Today I feel the same as you. Everything seems to be wrong lately. I have to fight for every little good thing in my life, while all around me people seem to be hitting one lucky streak after another. To cheer me up, I'm going on a little trip today, to a quiet little place I remember from my childhood, but haven't been to for ages. I hope it will put my mind somewhere else, make me see things differently.

Maybe you should do something like that?

FOR ROLAND AND THE WHITE.

...sorry. I had to.

OT: I always recommend a 'music bath' when someone's down in the dumps. Get your favorite music, plug your headphones in, turn off all the lights, and close your eyes. Let your ears and your soul bathe in the sounds, and after awhile, you'll feel much better.

When you're sinking, KICK HARDER. That is what my mother always taught me, and she was entirely correct. Never mind all this bollocks about 'find an rpg to play' or 'listen to some music'. If you want to really feel better about yourself and your problems you need to be proactive in looking for solutions. Sometimes that means simply coping with your emotional turmoil and studying hard to build the best possible future for yourself. Hell, it can mean cleaning your room. Just do something, ANYTHING that gives you a feeling of achievement and progress.

I'm free to talk if you want, but word of warning..i suck at making people feel better and cheering them up. Not that i'm a bad person (Well, not TO bad) but i just suck at it is all..

And if all else fails, go on a road-trip to Vegas.

1. Stop whining.
2. Stand up for yourself.
3. If you can't, find a way to empower yourself. Physically or confidence if it's what you lack.
4. Take responsibility for what you are lacking in.
5. Socialize with and become romantically involved with people who you can relate with/give a shit about you.

Might sound harsh, but the sooner you grow a pair and act like a man the better you'll start to feel. Most girls aren't worth the effort my friend, and physical beauty does not compute to self worth.

No advice on what to do, but I have some advice on what not to do. Don't become an existentialist like me and constantly ask what's the point of it all. That kind of thinking will make you really depressed.

I'm apparently good at these sort of comforts so if you feel like PM'ing me about it (which you probably don't) and giving me more detail I could do it.

If not, there's a couple things I know:

If you play an instrument, choose a song to try and learn to play that's way harder than what you can do, it gives you something to aspire to and if you mange to get it you feel very good about yourself. I've done this with 2 songs (Hysteria - Muse and YYZ - Rush on bass if anyone cares) and not only can I play them perfectly now but it's made me much better at it.

If you don't you could try something similar with another of your hobbies or any sports you might do.

If neither of these work, just remember that there will be bitches who fuck around with you, but there will always the nice girls who want a nice guy and don't care about your body or looks.

Well Mr. Wesker, that's really sorry news, real sorry. I imagine your first mistake was playing MW2. In any case, I'm not going to force some "cheer up" crap down your throat. If I could take a guess I'd say it's a combination of needing a lay, needing some company, and needing something to get worked up about. Just find something you like to do that requires some long-term effort; like fixing a car, or (more realistically) getting a new RPG for your favorite console.

Also, this may sound insensitive or something, but seriously, just forget about that girl for a while and fool around with someone, even if they're a lot less attractive or interesting than her. Or you. Or your dog. It really helps you confidence, and can help you get in the game. And who knows? Maybe she'll actually be a keeper.

Throw a party! That'd solve all your problems, best case scenario.

(And I really do hope you feel better, no matter what I sound like)
I have yet to kiss a girl, yet even be on a date.
*shame*
It just stings with the girl cause for once in my life, I didn't fuck it up. Turns out she likes the biggest douchebag in the entire school, and he humiliates me, on a daily basis.

On a serious note i had the same problems as you when i was at high school, my suggestion is to find some nice calming music, really takes your mind off things.

Oh and with that guy, if he starts on you again just whack him one[footnote]Unless he's much larger than you, if that's the case you should just find something he's insecure about and exploit it.[/footnote], most bullies are all talk.

My friends have told me to cheer up. A lot easier said than done. Long story short, I'm depressed.
Things really, really haven't gone my way. Public humiliation, the only girl I've liked tore me a new one, a little more public humiliation, and a horrid amount of self-doubt and pity. I tried playing some CoD:MW2 to cheer me up. I started playing, but half-way through I turned off the console, set the controller down and didn't give it a second thought. Last i tried some laughter. Watched all of The Hangover. Not one chuckle.

Escapsists, I need some inspiration and cheering up. Do your good deed for the day.
I believe that you're suffering from something akin to the Asch experiments. Go find someone you trust who will disent from the general feeling of the situation and go talk to them about it.

Even just a single person to confort you can help to get over a lot of things.

I hit a horrible low of self pity and depression earlier this month. But I realized several things.

To be content with everything I do have

The world offers no sympathy so you have to fight it no matter what

Depression is mind over matter I decided I wouldn't let this ruin me so I didn't let it

Seriously nothing you experience now will totally destroy or ruin your life unless you give up. If you are depressed and cannot life(even after seeing the funniest movie ever) then find something you truly enjoy. Teenagers have the habbit of always thinking everything is so unbeileveably important at this age. Whether what im saying is hurting or helpful
you need to suck it up and realize that are words mean nothing unless you take the steps to make it happen.
That only really works with your individual case of course. See the problem is, im no longer at high school, and im still feeling the same kind of depression ive always felt. Recognising that everything is ultimately pointless (yes yes its the same teenage emo cliche but i swear im not one of those people!). I mean seriously, within about 100 years your going to be dead, end of story. Within 1000 years nobody will have ever known that you even existed. So, why do we do the things we do?
Thats a question everyone must come to know eventually, sometimes to late. So who cares if you aren't remembered? I certainly don't and everyone I ever knew would be dead by then. I really cannot give you any answers. sigh what happens after we die is the true question.

Unfortunately im one of those "cease to exist until proven otherwise" post-death kind of guys. If we are not remembered for our actions, the actions have no reason to have taken place.

I've always had 1-2 depression waves in a year. Instead of just looking for answers I try to find why I'm depressed, and try to achieve peace of mind with that knowledge.
Don't be afraid to let friends help you, forum peeps are not your friends.
So, get up from the computer, lay of the games, and quoting Nurse Bob(from gta lcs) "Fix it".

Play a video game that requires a great deal of concentration, and preferably a very noisy one. And don't go anywhere near the liquor cabinet, because it's just a bad idea.

This too shall pass, mate. Keep that in mind.

Best advice I can give (as I've been in a similar situation before) is to just try to realize you'll get over it eventually. Doesnt Help much in the short term, but in a year or two, I'm sure you'll look back on your depressed self and and be embarrassed that you were down over such things.

If you want something to do in the meantime I'd advise staying away from MW2 and other online games that cause RAAAAAAEGEEEEE!!!!! To make time pass quicker try to get immersed in something that you thouroughly enjoy, be it a game/book/movie/TV series.... Anyway, best of luck with everything and wishing you much happy! ^.^

2 things firstly. You will never NEVER NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have proof of something after death because no one can tell you about it. make what ever decision you want but don't expect evidence

secondly your actions will be remembered by the people they touch.

examples: Hitler will be remembered because his actions influenced so many other people.
abraham lincon will be remembered for decisions that influenced so many people.
my father will be remembered for the decisions hes made that have influenced our life.

make of that what you will.

If you need to talk, I will listen to you. That may be all I can do for you, but sometimes that can help you feel better. :)

I hope everything turns around for you.
I wish I had a friend as good as you.

OP, things may look down, but just remember, there is people like @marter who will listen and that is all you need sometimes! :)
I can be your friend if you want me to. I'm always up for listening to people and trying to help them. :)
I've seen you state this a few times and would just like to say that I think you're doing a good job...unless you're starting a cult (you're not, are you?) Also, if anybody wants someone to talk to, I'll try my best, just let me know.
No, I'm not making a cult. I thank you for that, I hope to help people with their problems, as I know that they can be difficult to deal with alone. :)
