I'm looking for something that's hard to find: An unbiased news source. Any ideas?

almost anything american except for the Daily Show and the Colbert Report (regardless of how liberal they are, they rip on Dems just as much as Republicans)

The Daily Show with John Stewart is biased only against stupidity. Otherwise CNN is pretty good, mostly because they have pundits from both the right and left.
Are you kidding? They're definitely left wing. And so's the Colbert Report is, too. Since its a satire.

AHHHHHHHHH. Looks like its the BBC, NPR, and PBS.

The BBC is probably the closest you will come to Unbiased news, though its standards have been slipping over the last decade. Apart from a weird obsession with Apple actually now I think about it, and its been commented on by others.

I ADMITTED their left-wing so your comment is unnecessary. And as a watcher of both your shows, I can honestly tell you they rip on liberals. Also, they may be satirical, but they're still reporting ACTUAL NEWS>.

The best method is to watch a left and right news source and examine the crossover.

I would be weary of NPR. I like it because it does tend to give more facts and less opinion than other news sources, but they are still pretty left leaning.
That being said, as has bee stated earlier, unbiased is impossible. Everyone has an opinion and it is impossible to fully separate that opinion from reporting.

I hate to say it, but no such thing. Besides, people tend to side with either CNN or Fox. But Fox is too politically conservative to report without that bias, and CNN is too enthralled in its Obama worship to report honest news. So who freaking knows.

THERE IS NO UNBIASED SOURCE. EVER. PERIOD.

CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL RIGHT?
And that is useful to this thread how? Consider yourself reported...
Is that even grounds for anything other than an annoyed stare? You, sir, are a dick. Thank you for your time.

As to the question, I seriously doubt you can find unbiased news anywhere. Many sources feel a profound need to "change the world" through their reporting, meaning instead of reporting all the facts, they report the facts that rally people to their side. My advice? Look at a wide spectrum of news sources and judge for yourself. Look for trends.

So far...I've got BBC, NPR, PBS, and Factcheck.org (thanks clairedelune!), and a quick search for bias allegations for those led me to this:

A news source run by robots, because no human operated news source is ever going to be unbiased.

NPBN (and local affiliate MPBN in my case) seem to be relatively unbiased. BBC and BBC America as well. Oh and PBS. Other than that I can't think of any (perhaps local/small time stuff?) that would be unbiased, people listen to what they agree with generally speaking.

And as people have said above no news source is fully unbiased, but they cane try (some harder than others of course).

Don't know a lot about PBS but I'd say NPR is on the more left leaning side of things. BBC is a very respected news source though, so good choice there. Factcheck.org is great for winning political arguments. Provided you started with the right side.

This is odd, don't know if its true though:

* CNBC business television; MSNBC 24-hour cable and Internet news service (co-owned by NBC and Microsoft); Court TV (co-owned with Time Warner), Bravo (50%), A&E (25%), History Channel (25%).
The "MS" in MSNBC
means microsoft
The same Microsoft that donated 2.4 million to get GW bush elected.

This would be odd, especially considering that MSNBC is an openly left wind channel.

Quite right, though some news sources may be less biased than others...

The Onion is pretty unbias ... but most of the time its not really news. Definately a good laugh once in a while.
