The only helpful information toward that is that all media is biased. If not the media itself, each article in printed media will be biased.

It's possible in theory, but not practice. Something can only be unbiased if it's a third party completely without investment in either side, which is something I can only describe as mythical. That is, unless you're talking about some kind of non-entity third party with no opinions, "soul", thought process outside of logical decision making, etc, etc.

Really what it comes down to is, define 'unbiased'. Do you mean what's possible in theory? Or what we consider (wrongfully or not) to be unbiased?

The answer of course is 42.
Or it would be, but ironicly my local channel 42 happens to be fox news.

I don't think Unbiased information is impossible. However, I do believe that unbiased reporting is impossible. I reccomend cross-referencing; see both sides and the truth is somewhere in between.

All ships RAISE SARCASM SHIELDS!

I've heard that Fox News is a wonderfully objective news source. I don't think any network has the kind of journalistic integrity that Fox holds itself up to. Never have I seen them be anything but respectful, fair and open minded about whatever topic it is that they are reporting on.

SHIELDS DOWN!

Yeah, I couldn't keep going without killing myself from laughter.

I'm going to have to go with the greater majority and say the BBC is good. Certainly, I've not seen any true non-bias on the American networks, though, CNN does come close at times. The CBC is okay in that they have bias but they have it for both sides and both sides get equal air time. I'm not sure about newspapers though, The Globe and Mail is pretty good as a Canadian publication but I've not read any American papers.

For us Aussies, practically the only un-biased news source would have to be SBS World News.

Yea, have to agree with you there, though, ABC is not bad either.

The focus of your paper will no doubt be political, but for giggles, you ought to write about the various biases that different types of actual news media have (i.e. time vs. space etc). People seem to always ignore that side of the coin.

I should hope so because my response was as serious as a bladder infection.

Good luck. There is no such thing as an unbiased new source. Well, not in America at least.

In a poll, most Americans considered NPR to be the most unbiased news network. Other Americans call it liberal. I think it's very good, however.

Also, emphasis on most. I don't think any source of media is unbiased.

No matter where you look, you will not find an unbiased news source because everyone in the entire world is biased according to their individual worldviews - the best you can hope for is a news source that is honest about having a bias and makes a point of clearly defining what that probably entails regarding how they'll report the news.

NPR is extremely liberal, all those poll results tell you is so were most of the respondents - as for whether or not poll results translate over into actual reality, there's a famous saying... how did it go? Oh right - "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics".

Like some already said: everyone has an opinon, so nothing is unbiased.
The best you can do is get a source you know and filter out as much biased stuff as possible.
But then it'll still be biased because you select things based on your own views...

In short: unbiased does not exist.

I'm doing a paper on Media Bias, no matter which political affiliation they lean towards, and still can't find an unbiased news source to use an example.

Any help in finding one is appreciated. It's allowed to be a news website, too.
There is no such thing. Bias is a part of human nature. Even if they are just reporting the facts, the words they use to convey them will show their bias quickly.

I recommend BBC America; they're British, so they can't genuinely associate with any American party.
