1. cannot connect to any servers. "there are 250 servers that match your criteria. unfortunately, none of them want you"

2. if i do get connected, i get booted about 2 to 3 minutes in because im not "teh hardcore" despite the fact that ive played for about 20 hours or i get dogpiled by the enemy

3. ive never won a game i stayed in, and guess who the blame goes to?

4. spy=cheater. seriously, ive been up against the wall and i get backstabbed. and when i try to disguise myself and backstab? knife never goes up to imply that i can backstab when im RIGHT ON THEIR BACK!!! then i get killed

and dont even put up that "it gets better" poster, cause it dosent
1) Never had that problem.
2) Never been booted apart from when I repeatedly stabbed a group of Engineers who were setting up a disco in 2fort's sewers.
3) Winning isn't everything.
4) Spy=awesome. Backstabs have to hit the back, not start from behind.

How about training offline with the Spy until you are awesome. Then find a noob friendly server. Then bookmarking that one and playing on that.

Don't come on the Escapist server [steam://connect/uk.tf2.escapistmagazine.com:13013] though, because there may be a Spy that's that awesome already there ;)

OP: Do as he says! The knife, it is the doom of man.

I have never ever seen anyone kicked from a public server for being bad. Your first 3 issues seem to me like a bad experience with TF2Lobby (or some other form of low-tier competitive play, though I doubt you've ventured into IRC channels to find games). Hopefully you're not trying to find matches on Lobby with only 20 hours of game time. There you will definitely be kicked for inexperience and blamed for losing.
Just find a 24 player server through the "browse servers" tab with less than 100 ping and you should be fine. Knowing how to deal with Spies comes with experience; they are essentially the anti-noob class. Soldiers/Scouts/Pyros absolutely wreck Spies btw.

Never encountered any of these problems, myself.

I got sick of it recently, but thanks to the new trade system I can trade my old virtual crap I found for games. It's marvelous.

4-Spy's probably the most difficult class to play, with the fewest rewards. It's such a crap class to play it probably makes .5% total play time for me
Ehhhh, I agree with everything else, but this? No sir. The spy has the greatest Risk/Reward play style, and even though he isn't my favorite class, I still have the most hours played as him.

If you're discovered, chances are you'll be killed, but if you're not? Well, time to get to work and ruin someone's day.
I'm inclined to agree. It's difficult to master but when you have a really good day then you can wipe out the entire team with ease.

I had this moment on the Escapist server once and the overall cussing was extremely rewarding. They never even knew the rapetrain was acomin'. Think I ended the match with at least 30 points to the second best player. Of course this was after the F2P update me thinks so it might not be such an achievement after all, but by God it was glorious.

20 hours on a game is not enough time be considered even hardcore or to properly become good at the game and learn all of its nuances and mechanics unless you are a god or Swedish. I have also never seen anyone being kicked for being a newb I have seem people being kicked for being a noob.
Well at least I got that covered.
Sort of a joke on the seemingly huge amount of FPS clans that come from Sweden.

Eh, TF2 for PC really has begun irritating me lately. All these hats and weapons have pretty much destroyed what little balance the game had. Just for an example, I usually play as a sniper. If I'm running around in combat I'll use the huntsman but if I'm in an actual sniping position (Like 2 Fort for example) I'll use a Rifle or Bazaar Bargain (Depending on which I feel like). What I hate is when the other team decides they are better than you, and comes out with the Sydney Sleeper, a.k.a. the Piss-poor Shot, and body shots you with a charged shot before they even stick their head out. It's pretty lame... Don't even get me started on if they have that stupid crocodile outfit... It pretty much forces you to be a "body shotter".

Other than that, my problem with the server is really only the ones with premium accounts on them. You know, the ones that grant Heavies scout speed, even while shooting, or allow engies to place an infinite number of sentries if they donate to the server. That can ruin a game for someone as well.

I'd complain about the spy class, but really my experience with it is just bad luck. I'm really not that bad with the class, I just have the worst luck when it comes to execution, usually having a pyro fight an ally and just happen to get close enough to hit me or turn the corner to a demo shooting pipe bombs everywhere and killing me before I can get out a "Wtf...". To be honest, I only have a problem with the demo class. They're the most overpowered/cheap class in the game IMO (sorry if I offend you if you're a hardcore Demo player).

Though I will admit, I find the melee system to be very hit and miss for me. Sometimes, I'll be running into an enemy, using my melee weapon and it won't hit them once. I've also encountered many "face stabs" with spies as well, but as others have said this is more than likely server lag.

Just for a sort of scale, I've only played 800 hours or so of TF2 for PC in the past 2 years and 80 of those are with the Sniper, which is my most. I played quite a bit of TF2 for 360 back before I had a computer as well.

I literally clocked eight hundred hours into TF2. It does get better, I don't care how you stubbornly hold onto your rage, it gets better.

So, let's go down the list

1. Don't use the search function, use the server browser.

2. Booted for not being good? Never happened to me, never seen it happen. Go to Valve servers, or dedicated servers, usually they don't have anyone who boots.

3. That is another thing that I've hardly seen. Barely anybody blames anyone in specific, more like an entire team.

4. Spies is a high risk, high reward class. Easy to learn, hard to master, but the fact it's instakill means it of course will get rage.

Backstabs work that your knife stabs someone at a certain part of their body. Usually, lag comes into play and can BS some of your stabs (called a facestab). But being backed up against a wall won't save your exposed back, just use spychecking.

There's a problem, avoid maps like 2fort, Badwater Basin and Dustbowl. It's just campfest, you don't accomplish too much.

cp_well? You can kill people before a round starts with the right class (Scout, Soldier or Demo) by jumping over the trains.

I haven't seen many hackers in TF2, even after it went F2P.

I'm F2P and at the time of writing,uh...I mean, typing,I've played about 97 hours of TF2.I never had any problems connecting to servers or backstabbing people.20 hours of not winning a round ever and you wouldn't even think of blaming yourself?Find a class that suits you, being an awesome spy(like ME)is not for everyone.

Just having a fail streak is all, it's gonna turn into a win streak which will probably outshine your terrible time. Otherwise just look around for different servers that you haven't been to before/awhile. If this does not work take a break from the game because forcing yourself to do something that's fun just isn't. Hope this helped.

Yea, bullshit moves happen. Just try to play round a bit, find a class and a strategy you like and just have fun, don't get angered as much. If you hate the people on the server, just browse servers and join a different game. I usually play on Critsandvich servers and the guys there are pretty nice and fun.

find some friends on steam and play private matches with them. its much more fun to play with friends then random people. try to go into games together with friends and coordinate with them and work together it makes the experience much better and more fun
