I may not be a Halo fan and get really sick of the hype surrounding it. HOWEVER, I will say that the few times I've had a chance to play it (playing on a friend's 360), I've had lots of fun. The multiplayer is pretty fun, the soundtrack is kickass, and the premise... seems run-of-the-mill and doesn't interest me. Then again, I have a greater affinity for fantasy than sci-fi.

I agree, I've owned all those games and enjoy them all. Halo has gotten stale on me, but I still enjoy the odd game with my friends.

The way I see it, is you fall into one of two groups, whether you intend to or not.
1) The Fanboys. Accussed of pretty much bumming the game and trying to convert people to see it as the perfect game it is.
2) The Haters. Hating the game for all its worth. Mocking one flaw or several.

Sadly there is no inbetween with most people which is what I would like to see.
i.e 3_ Enjoy the game, acknowledges that it is good, but not brilliant.

Sadly, this also seems to be the case for Half Life 2.

Most halobashers have never played the game, and are just pc gamers thinking fps doesn't belong primarily on a console. I've never hated on the game myself but I have joked about the fanbase: Extreme fanboys (I'm talking macvspc level here) or 10-year-old's and frat boys. I'm not saying it's every player but god does the halo series playerbase have alot of idiots. Fun game if you turn of the sound, though

well i mean, bungie doesn't really have aynthing else to compare to halo, right? so yeah, it's their masterpiece. their piece de resistance. their magnum opus, so to speak.

Hating Halo is almost a big a fad as Halo. Sure it's not a great game, but it's decent. I'm tired of people just taking cheap shots and just saying it sucks. I also hate the opposite. I especially hate that one guy who has made several threads over the past couple days on a couple accounts that just say Halo sucks. I like the Halo series. Not my favourite, but at least the games offer some fun and are enjoyable.

I'm getting tired of it because it's fucking generic, true if my friends and I have nothing to doduring our spare, we go into the computer lab to play hlo, but taht's it, it's boring to play unless you're already bored.

Well first off it is a good game series but far from a masterpiece.

I can empatise with the point of Halo not being realistic arguement but me it kinda takes the piss with the hseer volume of damage needed to kill in online play sometime as well as the way to quick health recharge.

On the melee thing well we'll see how well you do if you get stabbed with a knife...

Although with my opinion with the online thing I just don't like the xbox online community I prefer the PC one but this is due to the fact I never have to hear anyones voice at all unless they are teamspeak in which case I care about what they say as they might be free specing for me.
