He is completely batshit, lives in L.A and basically mutilates just about anyone he can get his hands on. Any ideas?

EDIT: Like his serial killer name ie. Jack the Ripper, the Happy Face Killer, something that the news people call him.

EDIT EDIT: He's nuts, and he kills people because of it (yeah, I know most crazy people aren't actually violent). He only kills in LA, but he's not specific to one part of the city. There's really no link between his victims, but his MO is to cut their throats, then hack up the bodies. This is done really poorly, as he has no medical knowledge. He is pretty non-specific as to where he dumps the bodies.
The California Cutthroat?

Well, because he cuts people up I'd go with "The Los Angeles Lacerator", but I dunno.

If you make his actual name memorable enough, you do not have to give him an alias. The name would have to sound a bit menacing though.

How about.....Alex Sykes. It has a sharp sound to it. Good name for a serial killer. Of course if you already have a name chosen then this is all moot anyway.

The Uncreative Killer?

Sorry for that. I think you should come up with something more interesting about the way this guy kills. I'm sure he's important to the story, and you don't want your important characters to be generic.

"John Doe" seems perfectly reasonable. Make it so that he mutilates his victims, making it impossible to tell their identities. When someone unknown is found dead, they are named "John Doe"

I would have to say either Razor Mouth, or The I-spy Butcher(or executioner), you haven't given enough detail so this is the best I could do.

<color=red>The Mundane Killer? For reasons being that when the police find the bodies, there is no significant calling card. The killings may be barbaric, but, it could related to other things. Gang violence or just random murders.

It could be anybody. Ruling out medical experience, means that the murders looked rushed. Or amateurish. It's in L.A., so, there has to be some sort of air of hostility. Most movies based in L.A. have either a steady threat of gangbangers, homeless, junkie, or insane people present.

Not to mention the disgruntled employees and vigilantes. A killer who kills in a city rich with suspects. He plays it safe, he doesn't detract from his way of killing. He probably doesn't murder frequently or kill the same kind of people twice. He's textbook insane.

He is <color=red>The Mundane Killer.

The City Undertaker.

That's what I think would sound cool anyway.

As for backstory, make it interesting and make him a local celebrity like a TV star or news reporter.

EDIT: Better yet, characterise him as a whimpy, spineless and highly neurotic accountant with no sense of self worth who freaks out into hysterical guilty panic every time he kills someone because his killing urges were formed because of an old killing urge that he can't control and yet because of his cowardly behavior makes him one of the most dangerous but most wussy killers in the world.
