Dying would suck. Not being able to have sex the rest of your life would suck even more.

I hate the idea of being immortal, so I totally would not go for this anyway. *shudder*

If I can live forever, I'm sure that I will eventually run into an alien race that will teach me to shag without my junk.

Hmm...

As long as sex is still an option and not impacted, that's not a very difficult choice. An easy one for some people. Could just save some sperm in a sperm bank if I ever changed my mind.

As for the latter option... no, just no. Why live on forever if you can't live with... well, dignity.

Getting sterile? Probably.

Never having sex/maturbate again though? That´s a little harder.
IT WON'T BE THOUGH THAT'S THE POINT LOL

Sorry, I had to get it out of my system.

I'd have to agree though. I wouldn't mind not having kids, maybe wait until I've sired at least one child before taking the step to immortality, but overall I wouldn't care too much. So long as I could still have sex.
Seeing as we're talking visectomy here, that's still on the cards, right?
If not, I'll just get into some fucked up S&M live out my normal life.

Immortality, at the cost of no sex/children/whatever else? Sign me up!
My thoughts exactly good sir and/or madam.

Well, I'm a virgin so I wouldn't be missing much; I don't want to have kids, but if I did later I could always adopt; and the potential to die from having your head cleaved open means that it isn't the 'eternal loneliness' kind of immortal.

So yeah, immortal me up! (Would I assume that I wouldn't be stuck as a teenager? Maybe keep aging until I'm about 23-25, because I'm pretty sure that is a male's 'peak', so in other words it is when they are physically mature, and after that they start physically degrading)

But anyways, it means you can still die, but you never get sick so anything from plagues to Alzheimers to cancer to the common cold would be useless against you, so you'd never feel flat because of disease. But you can still choose to die if you want, so it would be like a normal life, except without illness and without the degrading physical state that comes with age, so a perfect life that can still be ended by another or you, but you stay at your peak for the entire time, because you know what, in the years before my death I don't want to be shitting into a bag and using a walker/wheelchair/cane to get around, because what a crappy way to end your life.

I don't understand what getting a vasectomy has to do with never having sex again... You don't need testicles to have sex.

Not having children doesn't matter if one is immortal. I hear a lot of people saying how children are the extension of us. I don't need any extensions if I'm to be immortal now do I?

IMO i would have children to carry on my legacy. i would possibly have a kid first, just one so i can raise it, and then get it done.

Interesting question. If I could have immortality at the cost of a simple chemical vasectomy or other such unobtrusive surgery, I'd go for it without a second thought. I've had people telling me that I'd "want children eventually (though definatly not now!)" for someting like fifteen years and I've decided that actually, I just don't like the things. Similar story with beer, actually.

As for the second, well if you're talking some magic/science thing where I no longer want to have sex ever again, well sure sign me up. After all, I don't currently want to get my head shut in a door, I don't miss the experiance every second that I'm not loosing a few brain cells to blunt force trauma.

If I still wanted sex, but was unable to have it, now that would get interesting. I think I would probably take the oppertunity for immortality, though I may end up regretting it. And it goes without saying that I'd try to cheat and find loopholes in the exact way you phrased the question, but that really isn't the point in these exersises is it?

(I would go for a neural stimulating probe capable of causing orgasm with the flick of a switch, for the record)

I'd take it if it were just at the cost of not being able to get a woman pregnant. But losing my junk maybe not.

Vasectomy? Time to rock out with my cock out for all eternity.

Castration? Fuck no. Fate worse than death.
