Impressions on Left 4 Dead 2

So, Valve announced the sequel to arguably one of the best games ever, Left 4 Dead. I mean, sure, some people, 2114 to be precise, are pissed off on Steam and formed a group about it. I mean, c'mon! It's not that bad. I for one am looking forward to it. New melee weapons, characters, stages, incinerator rounds, and a new special infected. Can't wait to use the new upgraded weapons also, new pistols, shotguns, assault rifle, and that wicked awesome axe. What do you people think about the newest zombie extravaganza?

Arguably one of the best games ever? The hell are you smoking? Yes it was fun, but no where near the greatness of some epic titles

And what was L4D? A zombie game with coop, no story, and about six different weapons. You're the one who is one something Sir DeTwat

Sounds good their changing alot of what makes it predictable and adding new things, a daylight map alone will make things interesting. But speculation this early on is pointless.

Fanboy huh? Give yourself a round of applause for making that claim. And another one while we're at it for attempting to turn my insult against me. I'll admit the story is lacking, but that doesn't matter, all the other things make up for it. The level design, the unpredictability of where zombies will come from next, it feels so immersive.

Should be great, I don't know why people are mad/disappointed.

People wanted more DLC for L4D and are angry that it was supposed to be DLC for 2 years. If they like L4D that much it shouldn't matter. Play that while others play L4D2. Which is going to be AWESOME.

We're annoyed because it's a full price game and all the L4D stuff will be left behind. I don't really want to play as new characters when Bill, Francis, Zoey and Louis are some of the best characters I've seen in a game without any real plot.

HOLY CRAP> excuse my language they cant even get the shotgun animations right. they still have the old bolt pulling one from the auto shotty in l4d. when in l4d2, the character is pulling the air. gameplay trailers on gametrailers.com make me want to throw a bag of drowning puppies into a ceiling fan

They do have half a year to iron all this out (and then realise they were idiots and add it as DLC for L4D).

However, I will be a little upset if it is released with as little content as the original for the full price of $49.99.

I LOVE the original LFD, but I don't see it as being worth as much as many people paid for it. I got my copy when the price finally dropped.l

I don't get why people are hating this so much just because it's a new game. I admit that was a bad move and Valve should have stuck with making free DLC, like TF2. But does the fact that they didn't do this make it one of the worst games that will come out? I liked Left 4 Dead a lot. I will probably end up getting this because it's better than the first. As earlier stated, It's just too soon to create a sequel. TF2 has been out for years, and Valve has provided us with patches and updates to keep us busy. What did they do with L4D? release one update and make a sequel. Overall, people who don't like this, stop exaggerating about how "THIS GAME WILL SUCK L4D SUCKED BECAUSE OF SOME BUGS THAT VALVE DIDN'T FIX VALVE SHOULD FIX THE FIRST ONE MAKE DLC!" Just deal with it, Valve won't change their mind.

In an era where we've been seeing longer and longer developement cycles, I'm pleased as can be that a proven developer with cred is making the most of a franchise with potential. This isn't exactly an EA Madden we're talking about here. I think that's what most people are afraid of. That or they're still just bitter that Ep 3 isn't out and they're taking it out on L4D.

No, the AI director was overrated. Woo hoo, a tank appears at usually the worst time possible. Such variety. Considering on the first Dead Air level a smoker appears nine times out of ten in a window during the first crescendo. The game is about immersive for five minutes, then you hear someone spam BOOMER BOOMER BOOMER on their mics for about 10 minutes. And yes, you are a fanboy, because you seem unable to understand obvious flaws in the game. Let's also take into the fact that the game is incredibly short in solo player, not to mention solo player is not fun at all.

The game lacks a story, so it is hard to care about the characters you are playing as in the game. The characters, except for Louis, were bland and cliche. The music was alright, however, this is not the case in the new one.

The game is littered with numerous glitches, like getting switched to different teams on versus when someone quits, and not to mention the bypass of half of the entire first chapter by taking a leap of faith.

The game has 6 different guns, and two different grenades. The guns are practically better versions of earlier weapons. The achievements are random and stupid, such as kill 53,594 zombies (it got old in Dead Rising)

I can excuse flaws in a game, but a game with no story (at all), little variety in levels or gun play, no real character developments, annoying glitches, and considering the game has no SDK to offer so far, I'd call it a waste of money for the full 50 dollars.

8. Punch Out <----- How? I'm guessing you haven't played the original. This game is pretty damn fun on its own, and brings back a nice mix of nostalgia and innovation.
9. Rock Band <---- The hell do you mean Eh? This is one of the best party games I've played. 4 slots, and usually everyone makes a fool of themselves. Good game, but I haven't played the second.
10. GTA IV <---- Are you? This has to be one of the best games I've played this generation. Multiplayer was as fun as it got with a bunch of friends, and the gun play and driving were very tight. Weak single player, but still an overall good game.

I said Eh because it had no real... I dunno. To amazingly different games. But you probably have never played Saints Row 2. Saints Row 2 has an amazing single player campaign. (But frankly, multiplayer is lacking)
