If the enemy is acting calm in front of his kid to see what I wud do, I wud remain calm as well and see if I can get the kid out of the room.
Then talk casually about how they're gonna die =P aand then kill them =) if the kid comes back in to see the body - I'll just say that I had my reasons and if s/he wants his/her revenge then to come at me one day when s/he can!

I'd say that I'd kill him anyway.
The reason being that I'm a very nonviolent person, so if I'm out to kill someone, it's going to be a damn good reason. I'd see what I could do to lessen the pain of the child after I do what needs to be done.

the childs age is a bit of a useful factor in this scenario

i know .. if it was a baby then i'd cap the guy anyway

the fact that he has a child means nothing .. he has to face the consequences of his action

if the child is old enough to have been manipulated by his father then i'll kill it too, if not i'll take the child and make sure it gets a proper upraising under extreme supervision and when he or she are of mature age they will be informed of their father and their history

Considered something similar, raising the child i mean. Although you have to consider if you would be able to possibaly deal with some of the grife that came along with raising the child of a person you killed.

That and they might turn on you if they knew you killed there parent.

the child will be given a good education .. then one day be asked about a certain tyrant he or she had learned about during studies .. after they share their opinion i will reveal that the tyrant was their father and that i ended his life for the sake of the world, but took him or her in because i did not believe that the child should suffer for the parents crimes ... at that point any well educated and properly raised human being would not only understand but probably feel grateful too .. i would also ask him if he wished his identity to be kept a secret

I'd shoot the guy in the head with my fists and say "Come child, let's find your mother." If I can't find or any other relative, then I'll hand him a sword and tell him to try and kill me whenever he would like.

Obviously my awesome skills will prevent him from killing me then, him being just a boy, but I expect a epic fight some time in the future.
