i would tell the Parent that they would have a 2 days with their child, and on the third day we fight. and right before the fight i would ask him...if he was sorry for what he did...and if he would reply yes..i would ask him what he would do to atone for his sins....if he did not know i would tell him...and i would let him go.....also i know what he did was vague but to me he killed my father...and left me for dead...and i don't think i would kill all his little minions..i would prolly let them go to....that's assuming i have the skills to take someone on and then beat them bad enough that they would just leave when i tell them they are done

I see what you did there. I was thinking off the same quote.

Shoot the kid in the face, kneecap the guy, cut out his tongue, cut off/shoot off his arms and legs, tie his still living torso to a chair, shoot the kid a couple of times with a shotgun, so I can't be revenge-murdered.
Then I walk out of there leaving the guy alone, tied to a chair, bleeding to death, with a dead son.
When I'm out, I press the button and my explosive charges placed strategically throughout the building go off, ausing it to collapse.

It would depend on what they did. If they were genocidal, I'd find a way to make the child close their eyes, and kill the enemy as quickly as possible.
If they had hurt my little sister, I'd skin the enemy alive, regardless of whether the kid was looking or not. EDIT: I forgot to mention I'd slit the kid's throat and kick him out a window if he tried to stop me.

I'd probably be in such a berserker fury mode with the massive amounts of adrenaline flowing through me that I wouldn't even notice the age of the kid and rip them both apart.

Kill the man because I went through all that hell to find him and it won't be for nothing. Also I can't let everyone get away with wronging me because he had children. maybe he should have thought about that before he did...whatever it was he did.

Also the boy will have to die as well. The last thing I would need is the twerp seeking revenge 20 years from now. More stress I don't need. That goes for any living relative as well.

I would throw a tiny net on the child. Grab my enemy by the throat after charging forward, look at my enemy, look at his child and have an evil smile then burst out laughing. I'd use my powers to levitate my foe in the air, and psychically control his and contort him into whatever i wanted. when i got bored, i'd slam him onto a spike.

Depends on if I think of myself as the hero or not.

If this guy killed my entire village he's obviously evil and I'd think of myself as the hero. Therefor it would slow me down. Maybe I'll have a nice chat...wait until the child leaves. Or I'd just go away. He's a father, I don't want to take away the child's father.

However, I don't care about my heroism, if I'm the villain or anti-hero I'd shoot him in the face then watch the blood spurt onto the child's face.

Now lets do a scale of Evil.

Moderate evil/Anti-hero: Hesitate, then kill him in a way that will minimize damage to the child.
Very Evil:Kill both of them. Quick and efficient.
Maximum Evil: Kill the father, cover the child in his blood, then let the revenge fester until he comes back to kill me.

Thread winner right here. Anyway, let's add to the scenario that the villian (or enemy) in question plans to use their child being there as an excuse not to have to face their actions. In other words, because their kid is there they don't plan on fighting or apologizing (if such a thing were even possible). They want to use their child as a moral shield.

If I was Darth Vader I would kill my enemy and raise the child as my own. As to make a shitty star wars game.

I kill the enemy and kill the child to make sure he doesn't grow up with a grudge to eventually come back to haunt me. And I kill the kid FIRST.

If I traveled all that way to kill this guy, why would I give a shit if his kid was there? I'd kill him and then maybe his kid will grow up to be Boba Fett.

Well, I don't kill people

as such, I don't see any harm in kicking the living crap out of the guy and taking him to jail...

...all while in front of the kid...

Well the child will give me two things to kill. I would cripple the guy I wanted to kill then slowly get rid of the child in front of him so he knows the pain of losing someone he loves...
