If it were a competition for prize money, how long do you think you could game continuously for? What's your record so far?

I'm pretty sure MMO players will take the cake on this one ¬_¬ I know WoW players who didn't sleep for three days straight, ridiculous.

Yeah about 72 hours would hit the wall.

Pretty cool idea tbh, like the hold a car the longest competitions

My record is honestly only like 10 hours. I'm not the kind of guy who just likes sitting and gaming. Eventually I have to work out some or read a book, or sometimes just kick back and watch some TV.

If I'm really hooked on a game I may do that thing where it's midnight and you're playing...and then you look outside and the sun is up. But that's really rare for me, I've only done that with like 3 games.

I know I played a game for 18 hours straight about 2 months ago...

So... Reasonably long, but probably not as long as some people get to...

I think my current record is something like 26 hours, back when I was an MMO addict. Those days are far behind me, however. Now my gaming sittings rarely exceed 3 hours. (I also have far less free time.)

Then again... my buddy and I did a four-day Halo marathon, but I guess it doesn't count because we stopped to sleep a couple times.
I've since become a coffee addict, so I could probably go much longer, but I value my health too much to try.

18-20 hours can happen without you realizing it sometimes if you're really into a game. If I was trying to compete for the longest time in front of a game I'd say I could double or triple that before running into some problems - I assume that biological needs (food, what happens to food, beverages, and the like) would all be accounted for in some type of competitive arena situation. If it's just about staying awake and on a game, I think you'd see people could do it for long periods of time; if you let people sleep and wake straight to play (with the above needs addressed as well) people could probably stay on some games almost indefinitely... then again, there's probably a serious health hazard in there somewhere, or several.

Um... 6 hours maybe, I can't sit and do one thing for long periods of time, except these forums, but only when I can't sleep.

I've never done a single session over 18 hours, but I have done weeks where I put in close to 60+ hours into WoW.

depends on the game/ if its co op, if i have played it before (a.k.a. knowing the routes and being able to beat it in one sitting)

if it was in my top 5 rpg's, and i was able to do co op and was having a blast with mods running? probably 2-3 days straight, i've stayed up at friends watching movies and eating fast food for 2-3 days straight so why not gaming, my most favorite hobby?

my actual record is like 20 hours and that was because i had to work the next day...so yeah, needed sleep

I played a bit over 20 hours of FFVII in one sitting. And then there were a lot of sessions of San Andreas that got at least to the teens.

2..maybe 3 hours max. I am nowhere near the gamer I used to be. I have other responsibilities not to mean a guilty conscious that do me good and tear me away from the game. It's really only in the later parts of the evening that I do start playing games more, and even then I try to limit myself in favor of sleep.

I love sleep.

Assuming I could take short food/drink/potty breaks?

Maybe 40 hours or so assuming I had a good sandbox game I could mess around in. I don't think I could stay awake much longer than that, and my butt would hurt :(

I've clocked about 20 hours in WoW in straight, though I may have taken an hour or two at some point in there to go shopping. Other than that, the one I can remember for certain is Mass Effect 2. Got the game unlocked at 1 am my time, went to bed at 4pm later that day. That was a messed up week for me, internal clock wise..

My record is probably around 10 hours too, but I take frequent breaks. I like to keep blood from pooling.

Most I've done is an entire day. Of course this was on WOW. My friends say that I apparently just fell asleep on my keyboard because my head was in just the right position to keep the button down to enable vent chat. First time I found out that I snore.
