Humanity has officially failed, in my mind. Every day, we hear more and more horrific stories about this kind of stuff and this continues to happen. I want to take a trip to Tranquility Lane and get away from all this.

That's an impressive job by the prosecution, getting a 10 year old gaoled.

Debunking doli incapax for children of that age is exceedingly difficult, so kudos to them. I'd be more disgusted, but I've been studying these sorts of cases in Legal Studies so I'm a tad desensitised to them right now...

in the UK, there is no death penalty, or they would not be part of the EU

and Jesus, they're only kids, don't kill them
Stalin was just a kid once to

This is really worse then i have heard from most adult cases, most likly these kids will grow up to be serial killers, they do just need to be taken care of right now
so was Hitler...

just get them some hardcore redevelopment program or something

also you spelled likely wrong

and everyone stop quoting me, I don't want messages!

You would be awarded the title for most heartless by the majority of the posters here... but i think you speak sense. When you think of the mass slaughter and genocide that has occurred throughout time just shows that we are more effected by the smaller actions, and we can't register the higher levels of death in this world. Pol Pot killed millions of Cambodians and we cannot acknowledge that. These kids beat up 2 others, and there is outcry... we live i a smegged up world

Its not this is the first time for them to do this either. All they did after being caught the first time is find a more secluded place. That seems to me like they do not have any morals and are as dangerous as any serial killer. So I am opposed to the death penelty as a rule but sometimes you've got to make exceptions, there is no way the juvenile correction system can fix how absolutly messed up they are. It cant even help normal crimes such as theft and joyriding as nearly all juvenile offenders reoffend.

A boy of 9 raped a girl of 6...
Another boy of 13 raped a 10 year old girl...
And this.
The fuck is happening?
Simple, kids are not innocent. I don't need much more reasoning to say that I personally won't want a kid at all, but.. there are more issues into the equation for those who suddenly sees me as a demon for not wanting to further pollute the human species with my own defect crap : /

This country has gone to hell. Why aren't these parents PARENTING their kids?
because if you try to reprimand your child, someone hauls you off to jail, saying something to the tune of "child abuse" while your kid gets left in the system and forgotten. then instead of learning respect by getting spanked, they learn violence from being able to run around with no rules being inforced.
My Dad disciplined me very well, so when I did something wrong I knew VERY well not to do it again.

Parenting is difficult, that's why adults should be doing it, rather than the increase in teen mums (in my area at least). We seem to be living in a Society that supports one night stands and having sex with protection, even if the teens/adults themselves are not ready for the responsibilities that children bring with them, or rather the trauma that couples go through when they go through an abortion.

Does sex education even mention how expensive kids are these days? Rather than the dangers of STDs I think teens need to know how serious human life actually is.

/rant end.

I don't think I'd be awarded a title for most heartless. I made no evaluation on the situation, I simply stated fact; this is nothing new.

Ethics and morals are a relatively new concept, so to see people beating the crap out of each other really isn't a new or shocking idea. Through the paradigm "we" now see the world, however, its an atrocity that must be put down and punished.

It amuses me to see everyone get in such a tizzy over something that, while not necessarily benign, is not a huge deal. (that last one would get me called heartless, but only by simple minded)

Feh, wouldn't surprise me if they ate the victims as well. Aren't they a bit too young to go around and rape other people? o.o

they did it for the lulz?

no but in all seriousness this is in its own way more horrific than the Bulger Case of the late 80's and i dread to think what will happen as the victims grow up.

As for the perpetrators, they'll be in a youth detention centre for ten to twelve years then be released with new identities... fantastic
