To have a point of reference, maybe. Calling something "unplayable" or "most terrible ever", when it's below average at worst, makes it sound like you're just whining. It's like someone from a country like US or UK complaining that they're the most unfortunate person on earth. It's ridiculous. Things don't have to be just "awesome" or "shit", they can be something in between.

But it was still playable, right? I know I'm nitpicking, but I don't like that the extremes are brought so close to the average. I mean, if you call something that's slightly below average "terrible", then what do you call something that really is terrible?

Terminator: Salvation

That game was horribly broken and short. I completed the campaign in roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes, and once you get your hands on the LMG everything else died if you as much as spoke softly to it... The game also felt a lot like Gears of War (which I'm not a fan of. Don't get me wrong, GoW is a good game, I just don't like it). Why did these robots take over again? Good thing I only rented it.

Legendary

Now this was just horrible for me. Played it on the PC, thinking it'd be great to kill mythical beings in present time with guns. The game had a lot of hype about it's "revolutionary engine" and all that, but it was crap. My aiming sensitivity kept getting DOUBLED every time I went into a crouching position, making aiming a nightmare (I already keep a pretty high sensitivity as it is). I never finished the game because I stopped caring about the story after 3 hours and decided to play something else.

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers.

Returned it in less than 2 hours.

I played The Great Escape game on PS2 years and I do mean YEARS ago and I actually liked it.

Wow there's a bunch of games here I wouldn't even qualify as bad.

Bebe's Kids. It's worse than the worst game you've ever played.

Good to know I'm not the only one who hates Fable.
I could give public speeches, write essays, and win a Nobel price in literature for how much I hate fable 3.

I don?t use the word hate much, I think it?s over used, but in the case of me and fable 3 it?s probably not strong enough!

A strong contender for worst place is The Darkness. The FPS gameplay is the worst ever. There's bad controls, difficult aiming, regenerating health, retarded AI, and more. Story and characters are boring, boring, and barely noticeable. Everything in this game is just a rancid pile of shite.
Just so you know, I wasn't stupid enough to spend any money on this garbage, I got it as a gift.

That game... it... I can't...

the only word I can use to describe it is; Broken.
the thing
You mean the PS2 quasi horror game? I actually liked it. It had a lot of good ideas. I wasn't expecting a triple A game when I bought it, just a low budget game with some good ideas. Which it actually was.

Oh yeah, I played the demo of DNF. That was awful. It should just have been a balls out 90's shooter like Serious Sam. It seems they tried to drag it in to the 2010s by adding typical elements such as regenerating health and limited ammo slots. It failed.

Urban Chaos for the PS1 (not to be confused with Urban Chaos: Riot Response, which bears absolutely no resemblance to the PS1 title) is hands down one of the worst games ever in my opinion.
Or maybe Crisis Beat for the PS1 as well. Look at this polygon nightmare! I'll take the Streets of Rage series over this instantly outdated beat em up mockery any day.

Probably APB, aka. All Points Bulletin, aka. The Game that was supposed to be a GTA/Saint's Row MMORPG aka the game that made it's developers bankrupt almost instantly.

Got into the closed beta and never could bring myself to log in again after my first 3-ish hours play session.
Horribly laggy AND barely running on my computer despite me turning down just about every graphical option even though my computer should've had no problem. Other than that, it was enourmously boring, bland, and nothing worked quite right, from the controls to the balancing.

Also, The Undergarden. Dear God, there is something about this game that annoys the hell out of me. It's just an all around horrible experience, although i know most people think otherwise.

And then there is Driv3r. I looved the first one, i still found good things about the sub-par second one, but the third game was just painful

EDIT: Oh and Special Mention to Rainbow Six (as in the very first one) for PSone. People would argue it should've never been ported for the Playstation, and those people would be right. It just doesn't work.

Martian Gothic.

Terrible voice acting, frustrating switching between characters, and buggy controls which frequently get the player killed. It's good for a laugh, but even that gets tiring.
I was going to say this too but i think Odium beats it by virtue of having a lot of the same flaws but added to which you play an elite commando unit sent into an extremely hazardous area with (if memory serves) 1 rile, 2 pistols and hardly any spare ammo.

Imo scavenging for gear is ok when your characters are not military or are supposed to have ended up in danger by accident, but Sent in with crappy weapons and no extra ammo? bad game design

Everyone here is acting like they have only ever played a dozen games since most of the games being is mostly big budgeted titles they just didn't like compared to everyone else that did.

Like others have said in this thread, we do not go out of our way to play terrible games. And yes it was unplayable because the things i mentioned kept it from functioning properly
