hmmm im not EXACTLY sure what you mean by flop..
it seems like alot of different uses have been used..
but my biggest flop was either too human or section 8
Too Human pissed me off because of that flick aiming system bull crap. The game I mentioned, Advent Rising, had that same problem so anything closely related to that game automatically gets canned.

Daikatana springs to mind.

But I have to hand it to ET for actually killing the games industry, now that's an acomplishment.

The worst flop of all time? Twilight Princess, easily. The runner-up is ME2, which is in turn followed closely by KOTOR 2.

The worst game of all time? ^I don't know^, but I thought Lost Odyssey was nothing short of painful.
Hahaha, oh wow.

Sorry, but I don't see how Twilight Princess can be 'easily' considered a flop, by any stretch of the imagination.
Ugh KOTOR 2... I never finished it. The bugs made it unplayable about halfway through

Red Alert 3... I seriously had the idea that they paid more for the actors than anything else having anything to do with the game

Indeed, worst disappointment ever, I can't even believe that came from the creator of simcity, he should have done a Simcity 5 instead.

Oh I almost forgot, Tomb raider: Angel of Darkness. Although I loved it but by then was a big disappointment to 90% of Lara fans and made Core Design pack home.

Fable II wouldn't have been as bad if ol' Pete had kept his piehole shut. Hard to say what the biggest flop was... I actually think MW2 was a flop in the end. It took me several months to realise that I hated it, though. Think I'm gonna go with Dante's Inferno here since it was so hyped up then turned out to be below mediocre.

HAZE. A distinguished developer, loads of time in development, and it was supposed to be one of the huge PS3 exclusives. But, it stunk. Bad.
Especially the beginning, but even the rebels couldn't rise above "meh"

MW2 was one of the most profitable games of all time. That's not a flop.

This is gonna be ironic, but Halo 3: ODST. Ok, fine. Firefight was awesome, and while the campaign was better, there was nothing really tying it to Halo except one token scene with Sgt. Johnson at the end. The city padded out the levels to the degree of monotony, you were constantly tripping over ammo and health kits, and it had by far the worst conclusion of any game I have ever seen.

Ironically I'm playing it on Legendary now.

Daikatana anyone?
Exactly!
How can anyone not remember this? Am I that old by gamer standards?
I still remember seeing the terrible ad campaign in PC Gamer and wondering: 'What the heck is this crap?'
I thought the whole John Romero will make you his ***** campaign was HILARIOUS. Then he apologized. Cue everyone go, "Wait a sec, WHAT?!"

Red Faction: Guerilla

So unsatisfying - left me wanting something more
I may never understand the ire for this game. It had an uninterested, poorly told story but ramping vehicles through second story buildings remained entertaining the entire way for me. Physics and ragdoll inspired games are nearly always fun for me, though.

Agreed. The hammer saved that game from being borderline-shit and got it to outstandingly average.

Brutal Legend

So many amazing elements went into that game and the demo was great. It's such a shame that the latter half of the game was terrible. I couldn't help but sigh when I saw it in the bargain bin at the store yesterday.

Read the first post and all shall become clear.

On topic: Fallout 3.
That game was the last straw. I would never again buy into a new game on launch for any conceivable reason; Beloved my so many, but I absolutely despise it.

anyone think left4dead2 didnt live up to potential? i mean i loved the game/series...but it felt wayyyyy too much like an expansion pack (to me)instead of a full on game. i still think left4dead2 should have been more DLC and let VALVE work on episode 3
