SWAN DIVE!

In all seriousness... Yeah probubly Da vinci.
This, except for Da Vinci because, by the time his scientific works were discovered, all of the stuff he though up existed already. Probably George Washington; if he headn't refused to be king after his four years of presidency, the world would be a different place.

My answer will be Mohammed.
Because of him his followers went on a big conquest spree, ending up all the way in Spain.
Hereby brining their science towards Europe who used that to propell themselves out of the darks ages and into the age of exploration and the start of western Civilization as we know it.

Tesla

Without his work,we would not have electricity for almost every household, the electric motor would not exist causing alot of modern hardware not to be able to exist in small version(computers would have to be cooled with a combustion engine propelled fan, imagine one of those puppies in your laptop. Not much of a laptop anymore). Not to mention his work on radar and radio communicator technology which he made advance by at least a decade.
His wireless electricity technology is still almost magic by today's standard(only recreated by the MIT with the distance only a fraction of the distance Telsa achieved). As if all that isn't enough,he brought to the world the first radiocontrolled robots. That's right drones have existed for a century now.

Too bad he was absolutly batshit crazy and half of his work wasn't written down and lost.Man,if he was alive today,he would look in the sky, notice the dissapointing lack of flying cars and build one on the spot, then procede making a world wide electricity network powered by a giant fusion reactor.

The guy who invented the wheel?

Seriously though, Alexander of Macedonia.
He was in his early twenties and he kicked the ever living shit out of the Persian empire. If that doesn't get you nominated I don't know what does.

Other than that, Jesus I guess.

Lt. General Romeo Dallaire. That man has gone through hell and dragged god knows how many poor bastards out of it. If the word Hero can be applied to anyone, it's him
And then god dragged back through Hell because the government needed a fallguy. Seriously. I can think of nobody else who deserves that title more than any other.

(Sidenote: Da Vinci? Really? Not everyone from Vinci is a great person. Leonardo? Yeah. But Da Vinci isn't part of his name.)

One word: Batman.

But if he's not acceptable, I'll go with Osamu Tezuka, the God of manga.
