The greatest man to have ever lived was Norman Borlag.

He was a Nobel prize-winning agriculturalist who introduced new farming techniques to places like India and Mexico.

His contributions have saved(literally MILLIONS of lives

IMO Jesus Christ.
Died for all the sins of mankind out of compassion and forgiveness.
And his followers plunged science into 1500 years of complete blackout, I say we could have done without him.

Aristotle...

Because Athens should not sin against philosophy twice.

And he taught Alexander the great

And he defined how we think in the west

And he just assumed the number of teeth in a pig's mouth

And he is just generally awesome! (Seriously, read the Nichomachean Ethics)

Failing Aristotle - Nietzsche. That guy anticipated and perhaps defined nearly ever major intellectual movement that followed him. Modernism, post-modernism, nihilism.

I'll join the Jesus bandwagon, despite being an atheist. I think his teachings were revolutionary.

The problem is what people did with his teachings and his image. The Catholic Church, for example, still claims to be the official church of Jesus and has used and continues to use that as justification for all kinds of terrible things. It's about power and control, and what better way to get it is to fool people into thinking you got Jesus on your side?
Wow. This is an unexpected turn of events...
I agree that ANY organized Church has corrupted the teachings of whatever religion they claim to be part of. It's human nature to make things bend in such a way that they benefit themselves.
I'm Christian but you will NEVER see me enter a church willingly. I take what I believe from what I interpret not what some man in a white robe says.

OT: Well Jesus, or Albert Einstein. Bother were incredibly influential in their own way.
Einstein: Theoretical Physics got turned on it's head when he showed up and he worked for plenty of humanitarian causes.
Jesus: Even if you aren't a Christian, you can't deny he and his teachings altered the very course of history for good and bad.

Well Jesus is the easy answer.

So, for a more interesting answer, it's between Shigeru Miyamoto & Jackie Chan.

Thats a really really tough one. Considering Jesus the mangod didnt exist, id probably have to go with Alexander the third, otherwise known as Alexander the Great. I mean, you cant beat a guy who got "the Great" slapped onto the end of his name. Took over the ancient world, shaped history in ways no one else could. Leonardo's great an all, but without Alexander, the world may be ruled by Persia for all we know. He changed the entire game, and thus, is the greatest person who ever lived

Jesus Christ. Even if you don't believe in him, there are plenty of facts that prove he existed, and he's had a bigger positive impact on the world than any other man.
He was and is a compassionate and forgiving figure, and will be seen as such for many billions to come.
