Right the first three Indi films were great, not the most realistic but great nonetheless because of a lovable and easily identifiable cast, epic action scenes and (for the time) cutting edge special effects. The fourth one also had all of these things yet it struck me as preposterous on so many levels. The whole fridge thing, Sharia doing his Tarzan thing and the ending in particular were just pathetic. If Lucas and Spielberg stay the hell away from things that are completely and totally impossible and preposterous, then I wouldn't mind them having another crack.

I think you and me both know they won't though and Lucas'll do to Indie what he did to Star Wars...

Also 2000th post yay!

Ignorance at its finest, apparently because a number of you here don't believe it matched the old Indy films the fourth and fifth shouldn't exist.

So many people here are bitching about the aliens, so I can only assume they are completely ignorant as to the theories that Gods depicted in ancient drawings are in fact extraterrestrial beings. I can't speak for Mayan or Aztec religions, but here in Australia, Aboriginal cave drawings can easily be interpreted as portrayals of aliens, their elongated bodies and large heads are in fact similar to stereotypical movie aliens.

So considering at least one person said it would have been okay if they had been Mayan gods at the end of the movie, wake up and realise that they were, it just so happened that they were also from space/another dimension.

DISCLAIMER
I'm not saying you have to like the movie/s, but honestly stop spouting crap that is in no way a valid complaint. Indy has always been about the supernatural and aliens fall under that category, whether you like it or not.

I liked the fourth movie.
Just thought the fridge momment was stupid.
I also liked the Idea of Shia takin up the Indy mantle. He is a good actor...
Did you forget about the aliens?

...In an Indiana Jones movie!?
Can I be the one to point out that aliens are in the style. Indiana Jones has always been a sort of 'All Boys Action Comics' from the 50's. They were based around jungles and fighting Nazis, etc. Aliens were a big part of it. So it really didn't bother me when aliens were the big thing of number 4. It was too be expected.

Plus, it is a lot less crazy then voodoo heart ripping cult. I mean, seriously.

As for the fifth movie? I'm going to look out for it. I can't say anything yet seeing as they haven't even written the stroy. But I'll most likely be at the cinema when it does come out.

No.
I liked the First Indy movie. The second was "meh." and the third was kinda lame.

The fourth took an idea- a very interesting and simple idea that was kinda already going bad as it was, and then showed us that stale ideas, in general, tend to be stale.

So, I shall avoid this movie like the plague. It's just going to be bad and there is no help for it.
That, and Shia Labeouf can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

Well personally it annoys me when comics (x-men in particular) start adding aliens, and especially magic. Often comic books will put so quazi-science on things and magic has no such explanation. They just seem like two distinct things
seriously have you actually READ any comics? they've ALWAYS been about aliens and magic. that's seriously misinformed response because they've always been about those 2 things
well not at the same time, and if they do I don't like it. I don't mind one or the other but at I've read enough comics to know there are those that exist that just stick with one (at least for some of the way)

Hmmm...Well, if they've relearned how to make an Indy movie, I might give it a chance. The fourth was a decent movie if you realized early-on that it really wasn't an Indy movie. I did, so I enjoyed an interesting story and some shit blowing up. The people who hate it were expecting an actual Indy movie and didn't get one. They got a prettied-up action movie.

yeah cause Superman hanging out with Zatana or Dr Fate won't make a good story at all

i'm not even bothered any more. they raped the first three with the fourth. you can't rape the fourth. it'd be like raping a rapist.
So it would be horribly ironic yet hilarious at the same time?

Not to me. Now I have read quite a few comics and everyone where aliens or magic are introduced half-way through or so it just strikes me that there running out of ideas. Also it gets hard to keep track of all the people/aliens some of the time.

so what you're saying is you don't like any comic ever? cause all the major ones have included aliens, such as Spider-man and his black suit and then there's the whole Mephisto thing and team ups with Doctor Strange

I'm merely saying I don't like every part of every series of a comic. And in regards to Spider-man I was never a huge fan of that anyway. I've read plenty of good; x-men, Captain America and Batman comics without Aliens suddenly being introduced

Did Maddoff steal Harrison Ford's and George Lucas' money or something along the line that they are now broke and have to keep working past retirement like everyone else? I know he got Spielbergs' so it makes sense that he would revive an old cash cow but Ford and Lucas have plenty of money so why keep beating a dead horse they already shot with The Crystal Skull.

I have a great deal of respect for Harrison Ford and Lucas (well at least I did before he did the prequels) but retire and enjoy your lives as a rich and famous Hollywood actor and producer you are respectively.

NO, fuck this movie.
The 4th one was awful, its not only the nuke in the fridge it was the godawful acting and the plot is as screwed up as any I've seen in a movie to date (except for the Blare Witch Project).

This may be harsh but in this instance your opinion CAN be wrong, the 4th was a TERRIBLE movie, and on top of that it murdered my best friend and raped my sister. There is no way they could make another good movie unless they kill of Shia LeBeouf, they find a time machine go back in time to when Ford did the stunts without all of that computer animated bullpucky and then they try to bring Shia LeBeouf but they accidentally kill him off forever and the world blows up, ending the series except for the spinoff "Indy on Mars" or some crap like that.

^ that should be the plot and I'm sending it in as we type.

Did you forget about the crappy plot, the horrible acting, the recycling of other people that never needed to be brought back? How about all of the CGI that should never be used in an Indy Film UNLESS a face is going to get sucked off into a box. How about who built those roads in the middle of the Amazon?

That movie was AWFUL and the only thing that totally saved it from the dumpster is that Harrison Ford is in it.

Aliens, for the love of the lords of Kobol, ALIENS!!! *cries*
Oh right, how could I forget? The small amount of screen time that the alien gets is completely out of line with Deamonic mind controling blood cults, immortal knight guardians, the Holy Grail, and Nazi's finding the Ark of the covenant, and all of the action sequences Indy gets away with. :D My bad.
My thoughts exactly.
