Sorry, Manson is most definitely not Industrial.Beetlejooce said:speedcoreXdandy said:I don't really consider something industrial unless it sounds as horrible as this:Beetlejooce said:Marilyn Manson is industrial/alternative rock. But i was giving examples. And i was just listing my favorite bands as examples. I like nine inch nails, the prodigy, and.. and.. RAMMSTEIN! who could be considered industrial but yeah your right Rammstein is more along the lines of rock.speedcoreXdandy said:I would like to point out that none of those bands you mentioned are Industrial. And neither are Rammstien before anyone even mentions their name.
Meh, I'll listen to anything, the more extreme the better, sometimes.

So basicaly bands like Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Laibach etc. I do like Rammstien (but Turmion Kaitilot do the same sort of thing better, you should check them out) but it just annoys me when people call them industrial.Quote from Industrial records from where the genre gets its name. Basically it can be anything that doesn't conform to traditional music standards. Which can be a lot of bands, But i would include Marilyn Manson as one of the main ones."The original idea of Industrial Records was to reject what the growing industry was telling you at the time what music was supposed to be."
He writes rock songs and puts a lot of distortion on some of them but realistically it's rock//heavy-rock.
Industrial usually incorporates heavily distorted synths, crunchy guitars and just as crunchy vocals.
Skinnypuppy [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTy8rl8ffQw], Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill Soundtracks) and Decree (couldn't find anything on youtube).
Rammstein may dabble in parts of industrial but I'd classify it as metal fundamentally.
Ahhh I saw Combichrist live a couple of years back - their laptop f*cked out (It was an Apple LOL) and he ended up just jumping into the crowd and hanging out with us while the computer was being fixed.Machines Are Us said:None of those are Industrial though, or even closely related to industrial for that matter, and this is coming from someone whose music collection is approximately 1/3 Industrial...Beetlejooce said:snipNo he isn't.
