"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die."

Because I can't remember some of the more awesome quotes that I've heard over the years, I'll just post the one's I do remember.

"Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" -David Glasgow Farragut, Battle of Mobile Bay.

"The hand is quicker than the eye... but shout have been watching the foot." -Uncle, Jackie Chan animated series.

Damn, that's all I've got right now without resorting to quoting RedvsBlue because that would be too easy.

Lets see here:

"I was different, not less"- Dr. Temple Grandin [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Grandin]

"If by some magic, autism had been eradicated from the face of the earth, then men would still be socializing in front of a wood fire at the entrance to a cave."-Dr. Temple Grandin [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Grandin](she has high-funtioning Autism btw)

"Dont Worry about your difficultlies in Mathimatics. I can assure you mine are still greater."- Albert Eisstein [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein]

"Does there truly exist an insuperable contradiction between religion and science? Can religion be superseded by science? The answers to these questions have, for centuries, given rise to considerable dispute and, indeed, bitter fighting. Yet, in my own mind there can be no doubt that in both cases a dispassionate consideration can only lead to a negative answer. What complicates the solution, however, is the fact that while most people readily agree on what is meant by "science," they are likely to differ on the meaning of "religion."-Albert Eistein [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein] (saying religion and science can co-exist as equals)

"Dont Fight a battle if you gain nothing from winning."-Field Marshel Erwin Rommel [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erwin_Rommel]

"Good soldiers, bad officers; however don't forget that without them we would not have any Civilization."-Field Marshel Erwin Rommel [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erwin_Rommel]

"It is fortunate that war is so terrible, lest we grow fond of it."-General Robert E. Lee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Lee]

"In this enlightened age, there are few I believe, but what will acknowledge, that slavery as an institution, is a moral & political evil in any Country...I think it however a greater evil to the white man than to the black race, & while my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more strong for the former."-General Robert E. Lee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Lee]

"I cannot consent to place in the control of others one who cannot control himself."-General Robert E. Lee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Lee]

"Obedience to lawful authority is the foundation of manly character."-General Robert E. Lee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Lee]

"War is hell."-General William T. Sherman [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tecumseh_Sherman]

"Let it be known that if a farmer wishes to burn his cotton, his house, his family, and himself, he may do so. But not his corn. We want that."-General William T. Sherman [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tecumseh_Sherman](this one always makes me lol)

"We must be ready to dare all for our country. For history does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid."-General/President Dwight D. Eisenhower. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_D._Eisenhower]

"Any man who WANTS to be president is either crazy or an egomaniac."-General/President Dwight D. Eisenhower [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_D._Eisenhower]

And the best flavor texts of Magic the Gathering:

"It doesn't bleed, it doesn't think, it doesn't laugh or cry. All it does, from dusk till dawn, is make the soldiers die."

"She walks in the twilight, her steps make no sound, her feet leave no tracks on the dew covered ground. Her hand gently beckons, she whispers your name, but those who go with her are never the same."

"It's like an avalanche... with teeth... that will chase you... UPHILL..."

"To observe the predators of the jungle, two are required. One to watch from above, one to run like hell."

"If you find yourself and a friend being chased by a king cheetah, I suggest tripping your friend."

"Goblins don't know the meaning of the word quit... or most words actually."

"The last thing to do through the goblin's mind... was it's teeth."

"The only feeling greater than hurling something a mile, is crushing something else with it that was REALLY REALLY irritating you."

"The goblins think they caught a worm. The worm thinks it caught seven goblins."

"A trained mind can bring about the greatest destruction... that or goblins... goblins work too."

"Throw more goblins at the problem. At best it goes away. At worst there are fewer goblins."

And the best one:

"The willow understands what the storm does not... that the power to endure harm outlives the power to inflict it."
Though I'm not one for remembering such cards, there is ONE that I have committed to memory:

"Close your ears to the voice of greed, and you can turn a gift for one into a gift for many."

"Don't believe in yourself, believe that I believe in you"--Kamina from Gurren Lagann(not exact wording but the ideas the same)
I don't get this. I thought this was a hilarious parody of motivational speeches the first time somebody linked the video, but it's apparently meant to be taken seriously. What possible good does it do me if other people believe in me? It's just such a nonsensical phrase.
Simon has confidence issues, knowing that Kamina believes in him helps Simon achieve his goals.

"And where is your father? He is cooked.
And where is your brother? He is eaten.
And where is your wife? There she sits, a wife for me.
And where are your children? : There they are, loads on their backs carrying food as my slaves."

Americans have two big problems, one is that we are a militaristic culture with no enemy. The other is that a lot of us think being "Born Equal" means we stay equal.

I got some more, not sure if ive been ninja'd or not with some a these :p

"In war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death, sacrifice." -Grey Wardens, Dragon Age: Origins

"For us, the storm has passed... the war is over. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight, was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten."-Admiral Hood, Halo 3

"It is a poor soldier who insists on seeing things not as they are, but as he wants them to be. One day reality hits, and his illusions fail him, and he dies stupidly. What honor is there in that?" ? Thel 'Vadamee (the Arbiter), Halo 3

The two most influential quotes that I remember are from Mark Twain and Gustave Flaubert.

"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. He who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." - Twain

"Be regular and orderly in your life so that you may be violent and original in your work." - Flaubert

Both kind of touched a nerve when I read them and them not being inherently badass makes them even better.

"Science adjusts its views based on what's observed
Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved"
-Tim Minchin

Not necessarily the most badass line out there, but it's crushingly true.
I now realize that there is really no merit to make Science and Faith clash when they should really be mutually exclusive. The very definition of Faith requires it you to be able to believe in something regardless of evidence.
While I see your point, I don't think that's necessarily the only way to look at it. Even though faith requires you to believe regardless of proof, it doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to attempt to prove it. I think that if people really believe in their faith, then they should use science as the ultimate means of proving their faith to other people because if you actually believe fully in your faith, science shouldn't be some kind of ultimate threat that shakes you, but a means of proving yourself instead.

I'm fond of the phrase "no terms except immediate and unconditional surrender can be accepted", by Ulysses S. Grant. That's always been my personal battle strategy, which I can only assume is also the reason that I can never win at Risk. However, I can't help it if alliances are for the weak.

Yeah, I think I got this.

Inspiring and memorable because...well, watch it. Badass because it's a movie where Charlie Chaplin parodies Hitler WHILE HITLER WAS RISING TO POWER. And not after we were at war with him, either. When he made it, the UK was going to prohibit it because they were still appeasing Hitler, and the US was still neutral. I mean...When Charlie Chaplin saw that Hitler was using his mustache, he could've just shaved. Instead, he did....this. Ergo, badass.

"So what if I'd spare him. To my mind It's the certainty in myself that I posses that allows me to have that kind of mercy or compassion. There's no wavering on that point it's fixed like the stars. The fact is, is that I'm never going to be killed. So remember this, mercy and compassion are virtues that only the strong are privileged to posses, and I... I'm strong" Vino from Baccano!
