I get mixed up in nearly every new game I start, most recently in Just cause 2 I have a nasty habbit of mixing up the grapple and nades... I've wasted so many nades even and after so many hours of gaming I still do it.

Every time I switch between Saints Row 2 and GTA IV, I always hit the wrong button for handbrake turns. In Saints Row 2, X is handbrake and A is cruise control. In GTA IV, X is changing weapons and... headlights toggle, and A is handbrake. So if I play a lot of Saints Row 2 and then later go play GTA IV (like I have been recently), I find myself slamming into a wall as my headlights turn on more often than I'd like.

Also, this time in GTA IV I kept trying to hold down B to access the weapon wheel, but there isn't one because Rockstar decided to say in the obnoxious PS2 "press left and right a whole bunch of times" part of the world for that mechanic. >_<

It turns out that if I try to aim down the sights in Halo, I end up sticking a team mate and having the whole team get mad at me.
Ah, I kept doing that too, thankfully in the campaign though.

Tried to rush around to flank the enemy on my own in countdown match on Red Orchestra 2.(Like I would in COD or BF)
Ended up with a face full of lead and a long wait for the next round.

I remember one time I was playing Saints Row 2 and I wanted to call a horse in a la Red Dead Redemption. Strangely, a few of my gang members rode up and got out of their car. It felt awesome.

After playing Brink for some time, it was kinda wierd playing a game without the SMART system..
Trying to walljump in BF:BC2 can get you killed pretty fast..

The only thing i can think of right now..
Try adjusting to something like COD after playing that.

Fallout 3's PS3 jump button was the same as COD's switch weapon button- I think you can tell where this is going.

Also, the COD "special grenade" button is the same as the Resistance 2 "Sprint/Crouch" button. Cue self-flashbanging.

Resistance: Fall Of Man's Secondary Fire is Resistance 2's Zoom. Cue much accidental self-nading.

Shattered Horizon has no gravity. Cue many deaths from falls.

COD/Halo/Everything modern has regenerating health. Half Life does not. Cue many suicidal rush attacks.

Most games don't have terrifying flickering nightmare faces as enemies. Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut does. Cue much brick shitting, screams of terror and "OH GOD WHAT IS THAT"s.

Dawn Of War: Soulstorm classifies Necron Scarabs as air units that only attack other air units. My favourite strategy for screwing around with infinite energy was now useless.

After spending a lot of time building towers in Minecraft, you forget that crouching in other games doesn't prevent you from falling.

yep, i did that in portal 2 'i wonder what's behind there' splat

also, pretty-much any driving game i just follow the physics of the last one i played
so i slam into walls allot.

I do it a lot with MMOs. Playing a little Warhammer lately and everytime I switch between different characters I'll try to use the hotkeys for stuff. Really sucks when you're playing DPS and trying to use your heals.

In Day of Defeat, I use space bar for sprint. And in Counter-Strike I use space bar for slow walk. On more than one occasion I've tried to sprint past the double doors up to bomb site B in de-dust2 only be slowly walk and get owned by a terrorist.

As for in game, I may of done it a few times, but nothing I really remember.

Fast switch-spamming between two weapons, like in TF2 (Rapidly pressing Q while running, for teh lulz), in CoD4 Multiplayer on PC. I looked like a spastic guy with a tendency to always lean left. It was annoying, but I couln't stop .____.

Also, playing the SC2 Terran Campaign after playing 20 or so Protoss Multiplayer games in a row.
I have called down more MULE's than I have ever made Probes...

Switching forward through the Halo series is quite awkward, especially trying to melee with B or reload with X in later games.

Otherwise not much of a problem, as apart from GTA cheats my muscle-memory is rubbish :p

The CoD / Bad Coy knife / 'nade problem.

I kept trying to grapple around the Vatican in Brotherhood after too much time on Just Cause 2.

Trying to use R-mouse to do something special with my 37mm cannon on WoT - DAMN MINECRAFT!

Blowing myself up on BFBC2 'Nam. In the main game I always have the binoculars as my Recon ability (to call in mortar strikes) and that's always L-Dpad. In 'Nam it's ALWAYS TNT = L-Dpad and Binoculars = R-Dpad. Cue much left trigger to bring up binoculars (place TNT) then right trigger to begin calling in a barrage (Detonate TNT).
