'For an American man, he seems quite relaxed about being touched...' Melody thought. 'They are usually very concerned about personal space.' Placing her hands on his sides once more, she slowly pressed inwards, towards his core, at various points along his rib cage, applying firm, gentle pressure for several seconds. "Tell me if this hurts, and how it hurts."

"Okay." James said as the doctor starting to pres against his sides. I guess she's nice enough, nothing to worry about at the-Oww, fuck, that hurt. "Right there, and it felt like someone hit me with a hammer." He said as he pushed the doctor's hand away,

"Do not be a baby," Melody chided him, catching his hands at the wrists and moving them away from his sides. "Here, stay like zis for a while," she instructed, posing his arms above his head. "Now, I am going to lift your shirt, so do not be surprised." She untucked his shirt and lifted it partly over his upraised arms. While checking the affected area for discoloration, she took out a stethoscope from her coat pocket, shook it briskly to get rid of any water, and donned the ear pieces, placing the drum on Jame's chest. "Breathe in and out slowly, please."

"Okay." James said as he started to breath in and out. Yeah, this is how I wanted to start my mission into Rapture, getting a physical from a doctor. Let's just hope nothing else goes this wrong. He thought as the doctor examined his breathing.

A nod, followed by a hustle of eager feet. Within moments a loud, audiable "Holy Fuck" could be heard by everyone. Irish was staring at a massive steel door, several stories tall, left rotting in the sea air. He slowly pulled the door open, and waited for any sign of movement... None. He peeked his eye out of the corner of the door, and stared into nothing but blackness.

Irish waved, and signaled the stairs were clear and the others could advance.

He had his revolver brandished with the hammer preemptively cocked. As the waves cascaded into the lighthouse, his dread, too, washed over him. They were in over their heads.

"Room is Black. Will enter when cleared." He said, with a whisper barely audible over the current.

Frowning at his chest, Melody places her stethoscope back into her coat pocket and tells James, "You can now be decent. The good news is, your lungs do not sound punctured, which is very good news. The bad news is, your pectoral muscles might be sprained. I suggest not doing anything too strenuous...like this mission. Unfortunately, we do not have much choice in the matter, so I can only ask you not to strain yourself too much." Thinking of possible combat, she adds, "If you must fire a weapon, brace yourself with both hands whenever possible."

"Okay, I'll remmeber that." James said as he pulled his shirt down. "Now, do you need any help with the bags? I can still help a lady with her bags, even if I am hurt." He said, laughing slightly after the comment. Don't trust her, and don't get to close. I've been betrayed to many times before, and I don't want anyone else hurt because of me.

Spook stared into the dark room alongside Irish. The night outside had been black, but not like this. Neither of them could see anything; it was like staring directly into a wall. Spook reached into his coat and got out his flashlight. Upon flicking it on the small beam pierced the darkness just enough to allow them to see the face of a massive bronze statue, most likely meant to depict the face of Rapture founder Andrew Ryan.

"He's an ugly bastard..." Spook murmured to Irish before nodding to him. "Alright, we're going in."

Spook flicked off his flashlight for a moment and returned to the others to tell them the plan, or lack thereof. He intended to simply go in and hope an entrance to Rapture would make itself apparent.

"The electricity appears to be out of the lighthouse and the inside is pitch black. Irish and I will go inside and hopefully be able to find some way into the city, or at least a way to turn on the damned lights. You all should wait here. Hopefully we will return soon, but if not, then at least you'll know it's hostile in there." Spook told the agents gethered at the base of the stairs.

He returned to Irish and nodded to him once more.

"Ladies first." He said and motioned toward the dark room.

Mock frowning at James, Melody puts her hands on her hips. "Vat did I just say about not straining yourself? Off vith you! Go, go, go." Guiding his shoulders, she turns him around and pushes him up towards the lighthouse. "I have had to carry cadavers before, and they are much heavier than living people, so please stay alive in zi meantime. Do not worry about my pack; I am used to zi weight."

Susan and Melody are going first inside a dark, unknown room?

Haha, no, sorry. That was just a little joke I was throwing at Irish, calling him a lady. Didn't mean to cause any confusion.

"Okay, god, sorry. Didn't know you where offended by a man offering to do what he is supposed to." James said as he was being pushed into the others around the door. "Hey, sorry for being late to the party." He said. James took out his pistol and took the safety off. Let's just pray I don't have to use this.

"You got it, Princess." He muttered, with a glint of joy in his eyes. He opened the door fully, and took a step forward. He felt a plate move, and suddenly lights sprung everywhere, and as they sprung, the words "No Gods or Kings, only Man" was left draped in a elegant red banner. Irish stood, dumbfounded, staring into the eyes of a massive bronze statue of Andrew Ryan. "Well, well."

He quickly noted the room, and predominantly the bathysphere found floating in a dock. Irish shook his head. This place has not been touched in decades. "Sir... You better... Come... Christ almighty, the bastard did it."

Larry headed into the room upon seeing the lights spring up. "Jesus..." he said, taking in the environment. "Why the fuck did Orren come here? It's filthy." He looked down at the bathysphere. "Guys, you want me to operate this thing? I'd let Irish do it, but we don't need a DUI." He gave out a little chuckle.

Spook stared at the scene unfolding before him as more of the lights flickered to life in the room. The architecture was absolutely astounding, concrete and marble, complemented with a bit of bronze spread sparingly through the room. The statue of Andre Ryan hung overhead and his angered look made Spook shudder. It was almost as if he were pissed off because they were trespassing on his creation.

"Yeah, he did do it." Spook chuckled. "Wonder if we'll get to meet him?"

He strolled over to where the sphere was floating and peeked inside. The thing was tiny, not nearly large enough to fit everyone inside. They were going to have to make two trips.

"Only four or five of us can fit in here. And I'm definitely going with the first bunch."

He stepped into the bathysphere, making sure to duck so he didn't hit his head.

"James! Go tell the others to go ahead and come inside. And ask them who's coming with me."

"I am not offended by the offer; I am only concerned about a patient." Melody was about to poke James on his sore spot to prove a point when the lights went on, and the inside of the lighthouse was revealed. "Mein Gott...this iz incredible."

"Got it!" James responded before heading back outside. "Hey, everyone, Spook and Irish are heading down, only about four of us can go. Decide which two are going, 'cause I'm staying up here for as long as I can." With that James slumped against the side of the lighthouse, waiting for the others to decide who goes.

"Aye, I'm going." Irish said, looking about the submarine. The words "Rapture Transit" were embedded on the side of the device. "Amazing..." He mumbled, as he tossed his equipment into the sub. The sub was barren, minus a single switch, with only one set of options. Up. Or Down.

"Size capacity..." He mumbled, dusting the sides of the circle, looking for significant information. "Nada." He sighed "Whatever this piece ah' ship is..." He was rather pleased with himself for that one. "... I'd say it was civilian issue. Ain't nothing like it." He noticed a radio transceiver, but decided not to fiddle with it.

"Reporting: A completely barren, one way device. No frills in that baby, and that glass has to be at least a foot thick to keep the pressure from crushing the occupants. I found a transistor, that appears to be live, and a switch to operate it. That's literally all."

"I'll head down with ya, Spook," said Larry, eagerly. "In 74 years, I've never been in an underwater city."

Ripley was quite with awe at what was going on around him. There really was a Rapture and they were about to enter it, he was excited. "If you dont mind, I would like to go down with you, sir." he said to Spook pleased with himself that he was able to contain the eagerness in his voice.

"Alright Larry, grab your gear and load it onto the sub." Spook said while lighting up a smoke. He took a long drag of what could possibly be the last cigarette of his life and puffed the smoke out in the shape of a ring.

"You too Ripley."

He extinguished the cigarette.

"Let's hope that there isn't a welcoming committee."
