I'm male, age 27, think I'm nice, but I do tend to hold people accountable for things that they say and do. I love to have a good and respectable debate, though. I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember, though I think Final Fantasy 7 is the game that turned me into a "gamer". I'm generally calm and reserved, but when I am angry, I am very angry.

Thank you for starting this thread! I feel it is a great idea for newcomers to the forums (like me) to find out more about some of the more active members here.

My real name is William (19 years old in 2 months) and I am currently a Freshman at Florida International University. I am aiming for a degree in Information Technology.

(Sorry for writing so much by the way, I guess I am more egocentric than I thought x_x)
While I consider myself to be a 'hardcore' gamer (meaning I play video games most of the time), I am still catching up on many renown classics like Final Fantasy 7 (just started...) and the whole Final Fantasy series in general (only played 5,9 and 13) , as well as the Resident Evil franchise (just played the first game and I loved it actually).

If you are wondering why:
Germany was more of a PC-Only scene (at least in the few towns I lived in) , so I grew up with PC games like Monkey Island, Sims, Warcraft or the Creatures-series . Also, the strict rating system did not allow me to play games like Resident Evil and even kept me 'uninformed' about their huge impact on future games (Same thing when it comes to console shooters, btw)(PC shooters were played by everyone though, so I guess the rating system failed there).

And I have a lot of regrets with how I've lived my (admittedly short) life. I've been working to change that though, become a better person and all that. Wow, that seems dark when compared to the others stuff.
It's not though, it's meant in an uplifting light, I wasn't some sort of baby eater or anything; just a fat, lazy bastard who didn't make much of himself.
But, I've dropped the fat... the lazy's significantly harder to drop, but I'm trying, and I've set my life on what I hope to be a good course.

Hello. I'm Stuart, nearly 19, from the South Coast of England. Currently in my first year at university studying English and English Language. I love music, my tastes lying mainly within rock and metal. I've been playing drums for six years now. I like chatting to other musicians, or music lovers with the same interest as me. I also have quite a deep interest in films and TV, especially most recently foreign stuff. I suppose I should mention reading as well, since that's what my course basically consists of. It comes second to music and film though.
Can't actually remember why I made an account here, but I originally came to this site cause of Zero Punctuation, and stayed for all the other great content.
Game-wise, I like anything with a good story, generally open-world, third-person stuff, preferring modern settings to historical ones, with Assassin's Creed being the exception.I like FPS's too, but there's a lot of generic crap out there. Main console is X360, but I play older games on my 2 year old laptop too (Deus Ex, Portal 2, the first four GTAs).

As for how I ended up here, I started here when someone showed me Zero Punctuation. When I found out that I could make a profile, I did. Then I got hooked on Unforgotton Realms and Doomsday Arcade. It all snowballed into an obsession that I can't control. This is one of the only gaming sites that isn't blocked at my school. It is now a regular mainstay in my trollings on the interwebs. I don't really know anyone here and I hope to make some friends here.

My personal life is simple. I play lots of video games an watch loads of movies and t.v. My current obsession is comics and cartons (like Adventure Time and Looney Toons). In my alone time, I write short stories about normal people in weird or crazy situations. I don't really get out much or hang out with friends as often as I used to because of my current location in the countryside of Northern Michigan.

I work at McDonalds and I have been there for 3 years. I work with some cool people and I love making fun of the dumbshits who come in there all the time. I also secretly want to become a stand-up comedian. That would be the shit.

This was a good thread to start. I really enjoy learning about the people who frequent this site.

Real name's Maxin Carroll and I'm not sure how to describe myself. I come off as very different depending on who you ask. To some I'm a positive and kind person who may or may not have a hard exterior, to others I'm a cynical ass who finds nothing but joy in your suffering. I can be shy, I can be bombastic. One persistent thing that I hold true is that I'm never sad; see no point in it. There's always someone worse off than you, so why complain!

I'm a nihilist, I see no intrinsic value in anything in this universe and view life itself as meaningless. Still, might as well enjoy it. I've also from time to time tossed around with the concept of solipsism, but that's mostly for a confidence boost.

I love video games but I'm usually terrible at them, hence why my preference is in rpg's as they're usually single player. But I'm willing to try almost any game as long as they're not a racing game/sports game.

I'm also a fan of anime and manga, however I'll admit I'm not as well versed as I like to think. My favourites at the moment are Baccano for the wonderful characters but that could change completely depending on my mood.
