I'm actually glad you said this it raises a point because I'm Welsh therefore not bound by language to the USA. So I'd choose the Russians and their rather large stockpile of nuclear weapons or China and their rather large army...either way I'd probably go a bit power mad and abolish English parliment and the Monarchy. Then Scotland can have the north of England and Wales can have the south and Ireland will be completely free...there maybe a few riots but I think they'll be subdued when a nuke hits London...or a large chinese force wipes out the protestors.maddawg IAJI said:

Personally I don't feel any single nation would be of much military aid to the U.S. in a conventional war, and a nuclear war means everyone loses. The only one's who have tended to benefit from past alliances are our allies, not ourselves. If anything these alliances are one-way in benefit and I can't name a single major conflict within the last 100 years in which our allies came to the aid of the U.S., only U.S. aid to allies in pre-existing conflicts. I'd approve of us instead having no allies but ourselves and letting the rest of the world fight their own battles.

but to be honest, over everyone, I would have to go with the english. sure, we had a fight in the past, but we wanted independence, the english was heavily imperialistic at the time, but I'm not saying we're any better, we did some nasty shit to the native americans. i suppose we're good friends because we both see the error of our ways and have changed them, and now, we stand together to fight for common goals, and have learned from one another in the past. England is our tough older brother, but that doesn't mean we can't help them, I know they'll do the same.

Actually he posted he was american, thus the rule of Napoleon and the 100 Years War means nothing to him, only to Britain. As an American, we could save ourselves easily from any foreign threat. However, We all still are under the NATO Allies Pact. An assault on the USA is considered an assault on the EU, UK, and Canada and vice versa. And if someone wanted to invade AUS, I can't imagine the USA standing for it. We're in this shit together. For now......

Many people consider France to have won the 100 year war since they officially kicked the English out of mainland Europe, although personally I think it was more of a stalemate. And you gotta remember what happened *before* Waterloo. You know, the whole 'nearly conquering all of Europe' thing. Had Napoleon been well during the battle of Warterloo as well, it's possible he could have won. Germany only held France because there was a traitor in the French Army that gave away the French plans. The French had quite a powerful army back in World War II, especially since they didn't face as many trials as countries such as Britain or Germany. They could have defended against the Germans for quite a while if it weren't for the jolly old backstabber.LANCE420 said:
