I hated them at the start, iTunes and putting songs on the bastard took me a week to figure out, literally.

I love em now though

IMHO, the best way to go is with Creative Labs for an MP3 Player. I have a Zen Vision: M. its freakin awesome. granted, they are now discontinued. but their new ones..the Zen X-fi. rivals over anything else out there. and it has also been proven that ipods use the interface software patented by Creative. there was actually a law suit over it. Apple had to pay 100 Mill for trying to steal it..or something. Creative was there first making sound products, so naturally they have better hardware. Creative has also stated that their plan is to completely take over the ipod sales, beause they are fed up with Apple.

I couldn't live without my ipod!

My main problem is that my knowledge of the alphabet is shit so it takes me about 5 years to find a song/artist coz I can't remember whether m comes before j or after it etc

Is it true that you can't transfer music from iPods back to a computer? That's a deal-breaker for me. I like to be able to give people nice songs currently residing on my mp3 player.
And iTunes is balls, from what I have seen.
Creative is where it's at, in terms of mp3 players.

I have a Zune, and I love it! I have had no problems with it.
Although it seems to run out of power easily

I've never owned an ipod, since mobile phones with mp3 playback first became available [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens_SL45] (yep, squeezing music on a 32mb card was fun)

Current model being a TyTN II [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_TyTN_II] with an 8gb micro-sd card

why carry around multiple devices when you can get one mobile device that does everything? :)

i like them but i hate when some rich kid flaunts his itouch in front of you then breaks it, and pulls out another from his backpack.
