I wholeheartedly believe that if I step on a grate in the sidewalk it will collapse and I'll fall in. Doesn't matter how many people I've seen walk over it, even if they are much heavier than I am, if I step on it THAT will be the straw that broke the camel's back. I either walk around them or jump over them.

Thats someone is watching me at all times.
I used to be paranoid about that when I was younger. It stemmed from the creepy clown lamp that was in my room. I would turn it around so it couldn't watch me sleeping.

I occasionally get the feeling some sort of monster is about to attack me.... It's not so much a fear, more..... schizophrenic paranoia

Long fingernails and damaged nails. Women who have nails that are longer than a few millimetres. It makes me cringe and I completely lock up. I recall walking into a metalwork class and seeing the teacher's thumb nail that was cracked with half of it missing. I convulsed and vomited on the spot.

Heights and Spiders. And the dark, but not the dark. I'll explain.

Heights. I dont know, I'm just not very coordinated and I feel like I'm goign to hurt myself when i get up high, so I always get Dizzy and kinda sick.

Spiders. Spiders are scary. They spin webs, have eight legs and like to crawl on lightbulbs, making HUGE shadows. Also, possibly the worst thing about htem is, the smallest, most unnoticible ones are the deadliest. Even snakes let you know to back the eff off. Spiders just kinda... move, then sit and wiat for you to Peeve them off again. Taht and the way they kill prey. They inject them with venom, then suck out the inside.

The Dark. Its not the dark. the dark is nothing. the dark, at its worst, just suffocates you. And lets face it, when was the last tiem you heard someone say, "I'm scared of the dark. Waht if.. or, because there might be a..." etc. So, no, the dark doesnt really bother me. Its wats in the dark. Dark is cover for the killer. Like spiders. especially black widows. If its pitch black,a nd one decides you Peeved it off too much, youw ould never see anyhting except maybe that heart stopping red hourglass as it moved up you and slowly sank its fangs into you...

Scary.

When I hear a car passing me from behind I imagine a gunshot sound. I've never been able to figure out whether this is an irrational fear, or just a morbid thought ritual.

Moths. I haven't got a clue why, because it only started around a year ago for absolutely no reason, but I completely freak out whenever I see one, i.e. dropping everything to sprint out of the room, do a silly dance to check it's not on me, and then alternate between sobbing and hysterical laughter. I've also been known to stay outside of my room for up to three hours until someone comes along to get rid of it (the moth, I mean). Unfortunately, I live in a fairly large, old house with a biggish garden, so...there's a lot during the summertime. D:

Funnily enough, I find things like spiders, snakes, scorpions, and Other Things That People Go Squick At etc. cute.
Im sorry, I know that was important but......SCORPIONS!?

Hey, I'm a Scorpio...it's in my nature? :D The bigass ones are kinda ugly, but the small ones are quite cute. Besides being fatally venomous, and all.

I have a fear of spiders. If its bigger than a money spider, its not allowed to touch me. If its bigger than a 20 pence piece, its not allowed to be near me. If its bigger than a desert spoon, its not allowed in the room with me.

So when you get spiders that can muthafucking fly (Daddy-Long-Legs!) I go crazy. Crying, running out the room, all sorts.

You get a similar reaction if a town pigeon comes near me, definitely when it flies near me. A huddled, weeping 19-year-old, in a town centre, I imagine is not a nice sight.

I'm also terrified of wasps and bees, but then how can being afraid of something angry and inherently evil like a wasp be irrational?
I'm not quite as afraid of bees as they seem a but more, well... bumbling. Like they're only really going to harm you as a result of their own stupidity.

A friend of mine is actually scared of used teabags, and an ex of mine has an hysterical, arm-flailing fear of tomatoes. Madness.

Oh, and another friend actually cowers in terror at the mere sight of... feathers. Once for a laugh I put a feather boa around her shoulders, I won't make that mistake again.

I have a fear of alcohol. I am terrified of consuming it, and feel very uncomfortable around someone who is drinking. And I get depressed whenever it is mentioned in a conversation, as I feel left out.
The result? I end up avoiding pretty much all social encounters.
Trust me, it is not fun in the least.

Oh, and spiders. Though I don't consider that irrational, as it is more "GET THAT THING OFF OF ME" than "eek! A spider!"

Being buried alive, open water and insects. Which is ironic because I'm fascinated by both deep sea creatures and insects, as long as they're on TV, or behind protective glass.

I've lived on the coast for my entire life, and I still can't stand jellyfish. I've never even been stung that I can remember. I flipped once when I saw a man-o-war.

Creepy Crawlies in general. But spiders lock me up faster than lockjaw in the Arctic.

I can't handle large groups of people. Seriously can't stand crowds. Does that count?
