Is 2010 going to be the best year for games yet?

The Guild Wars 2 beta (hopefully)
and perhaps Silent Hunter 5.

Not as good as 2005 but, there are some good titles coming out none the less. There will probably be some good console games that I'll discover at my friends house.

Could well be. I've been drooling over Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake for ages and now they are so close I can taste them. Not to mention a whole onslaught of other possibly stellar titles that Raving Cheese Puff listed.

There's only one game I'm looking forward to in 2010, and that's Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.

But I'm thinking that 2010 will get a huge wave of unnecessary sequels like "God of War 4" or "Modern Warfare 3". I know those aren't gonna be in 2010 but it's just giving examples to prove a point. There'll definitely be alot of sequels, there always are.

God of War 3 will be incredible, as will Bioshock 2. Bayonetta got rave reviews and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow looks mind blowingly good. Crysis 2 could break barriers if it doesn't break consoles first. Rage and Fallout: New Vegas will definitely not dissapoint and in terms of tremendous fun, Dead Rising 2 and JUST CAUSE 2 will be brilliant. So yeh, it'll be a good year.

Gran Turismo 5 is out in the summer and will pretty much be the last game I'll need for the next few years. Oh god over 1000 cars and Yamauchi's statement that "every concievable part" on the cars can be upgraded and tuned, combined with the new, incredible driving physics and sheer variety of racing (regular Gran Turismo-style racing, WRC, NASCAR and now, allegedly IRL).

Wow. I couldn't even finish page 1. You guys sound like the millions of 12 year olds who thought Modern Warfare 2 was going to be the best thing since Barack Obama and change their lives forever.

Then at the end of 2009 everyone was talking about how terrible the year was. I predict come December 2010 everyone of you will be in a thread talking about how 2010 was even worse than 2009 and how 2011 will change your lives and make you better people inside 'cause the sequels being announced will be better than oxygen and water for your body.

Also the only thing 2010 will be remembered for is how it showed us how amazing 2009 would have been for games if everybody didn't get scared of Modern Warfare 2.

Best Year? If Space Marine comes out. And I don't agree to this but if Star Craft II comes out, Korea is going to party like hell. The servers will be laggy like 1900s.

OT: It will be a good year. AVP? Check. Thats enough for me. But I really want Space Marine to come out.
