Is anyone else starting to get sick of zombies?

So, I was playing Left 4 Dead 2 today, and I realized something: I'm just sick of zombies now.

I've got the dvd of Zombieland, I've got Dead Rising 2, hell, I've even got the Zombie Survival guide, so I think it's fair to say I've got a soft spot for zombies.

Maybe I'm just burnt out or something, but I don't want to see ONE more piece of zombie-related media for awhile.

Anyone else share this sentiment?

I think it's being over done lately with a resurgence of the whole zombie thing a few years ago, but I'm personally not sick of it, still quite like zombie stuff. I'd personally like to see a proper zombie survival game, Fallout New Vegas Hardcore mode style.

Well, either that or make the zombies make some kind of sense. Or be a little scary, somehow.

A virus that brings you back to life (ish), and you stay alive without eating until something damages your head, all other injuries notwithstanding? Nah, I can't ever believe that.

Likewise, an enemy that has no mind at all, utilises no tactics other than walk towards its opponents moaning to let everyone know where it is...if humanity spent its time fighting things like that instead of each other, defence budgets would be tiny, and you'd need hardly any training to call yourself a soldier.

Now, Army of Darkness or Warhammer/Warhammer 40k style undead, which are controlled by an intelligence, and have enough of their own to be able to use weaponry...that could have potential.

I've never really been that into zombies, they're OK in my opinion but I wouldn't say I have a particular soft spot for them and I prefer an enemy which is in some way organised.

the only place im sick of zombies is on here, i think iv seen 4 zombie threads today? (not including this one) but i likes zombies, they somewhat scary and easy t put into media, just stagger your self, place a game with aliens, then monsters, the zombies and repeat ha

I'm sorry sir but I do believe those were zombie GHOSTS. Quite a difference there.

OT: I find myself liking zombie games, and other things I suppose. They aren't the most origional but they tend to add a good bit of fun most of the time.

well, until they find something better i guess we have to stick to it. zombies are not too special so you can squeeze them into any kind of game. maybe the next level will be mummies with jetpacks shooting lazers out of their...toes.

It seems like everyone and their mother are saying "zombies" every third sentence. Like "o yeah, that would be good for a zombie invasion" or "it is in case of zombies". I got sick of zombies about 7 months in. For some reason the fad is still going strong.

I'm getting sick of them too. Mostly in the shooter genres. I mean, having zombies in a zombie-killer game is obviously one story, but when suddenly even games like Call of Duty and Red Dead Redemption feel the need to come out with zombies it's a little ridiculous.

Though I suppose there could be worse things overdone to hell.

Hell no, I love zombies I've got world war Z, the zombie survival guide, and brains a memoir(Brains is a awesome book by the way, tells the story from the zombies perspective).

Though thats just me.

I want old-school, non-infected zombies to come back. I like the zombies where everybody who dies comes back to life regardless of cause. Now that is creepy. The infection sometimes winds up making things kind of stupid, like in 28 Weeks Later. Also, slow zombies are my favorites.

So, yeah, my issue with zombies is that they're all the same now. There is a heck of a lot of room for variety in the type of zombie that could be used.
