I'm currently in a relationship and very happy about that... this really does beat being single! However, I was single for nearly 4 years before this girl, and my ex was a bad one.
She wasn't so bad as a person but we just really didn't match up well and I think my expectations of a relationship made it worse. That was quite painful and being single definitely beat that!
A good relationship beats being single hands down, and I think that anyone that disagrees just hasn't had that good a relationship yet. Still, being single has its perks, it's fun... but I'd like to bring up 2 points I think are very important:
1. The "freedom" you get with being single is kinda overrated. If you love someone you willingly spend time with them, it's not like you're a prisoner - and someone who really cares for you won't make you feel caged either.
2. But more importantly, being single is easier than being in a relationship... you do have less expectations placed on you and you don't need to worry so much about someone else. It may sound like a bad thing, but truth is that being in a relationship will teach you more about yourself than being single ever will.
...but if you're 16? Forget that serious stuff till you're older... go with it and enjoy yourself
