I get that often. Sometimes it takes me forever to connect to a game, then when I finally do it disconnects after two minutes of playing.
It took me forever to connect to a game. Is it that no one is playing in the afternoon? It can't be a matter of level matching because at level three I was playing matches with folks at level 20 and such that had all sorts of abilities that I didn't. I find the match disconnect most irritating because I don't think it keeps the Adam that you've amassed, and I know it doesn't retain the current score details.

I still think Bioshock 1 and 2 cant hold a candle to Systemshock. maybe it has a better story but thats just all up to personal taste. For the rest its just dumbed down gameplay imo. I dont think its a bad game but i fail to see the hype and think it gets more credit then it deserves. I'd give it a 7.5/10

I think people should stop asking for others opinions, as everyones differs. Everytime a new games comes out I always see stuff like this, its ridiculous.

Theres a few possible solutions though:
1 - Read reviews or look at gameplay videos to help see the good and bad points.
2 - Rent the damn thing.
3 - stfu asking stupid questions like this when games get high scores. Really, if you can't tell a game is good by an overall score of 88/100 then something is wrong with you.
i second this

As far I'm aware it doesn't keep the Adam you've collected, and it's hard to say if we can't connect because no one's playing. Although I think that's highly unlikely.
I only hope they fix the problem soon because after a while I just give up trying.

I agree; I hope they fix. I've never been a multiplayer gamer, but I'm really enjoying this experience, and I'm most fascinated by the additions it'll provide to the story of Rapture (via the unlocked audio logs).

I can appreciate the fact that Bioshock feels like a dumbed/watered down version of a PC favorite, but as a console gamer, I have trouble thinking of any game that provided the experience that Bioshock did. It is -- with no exaggeration -- my favorite game on the 360.

Yes it is.I am playing through my first playthrough at the moment. And I am enjoying almost all the stuff there is. Sure the first one was better. But this one is still a hell of allot fun.

It is quite an exceptional game with great characters and a nice solid story behind it. Combat is great with plenty of new weapons to get behind. Plasmids are fun to use just like the first game.

Two thumbs up.

Yes, it's worth getting.

Here's a review I did, might help you decide:

It's true that this game isn't as good as the original. However, that's mostly because the first game was one of the best games I've ever had, and even thought Bioshock 2 is really good as it is, it pales next to its predecessor.

That's not to say you shouldn't buy it though, it's worth owning.
Meh, I liked this one much more than the first.

No silly plot twist near the end, better protagonist, better gameplay.

They just could have done more with it, I'm guessing multiplayer is to blame.

It isn't worth apurchase for me (rented it), but I don't care much for FPS games. Other than that, it's got better gameplay than the first one, but slightly less interesting story.

Ehhh, I liked it the atmosphere was good and the combat flows greatly but it just doesn't have enough replay value for me. If you have to choose between that and something else it would depend on what your other choice was.

I hated the first Bioshock, but I love this one. It's so much cooler being a big daddy, and the combat is a lot better. :)
But... you become a big daddy in the first one :S. That doesn't make any sense. How can you hate the first but love the second?
The Story was the only thing that was good about the first one in my opinion, and it just didn't scare me. I actually thought there was greater tension and combat in the second one, and the setting and story were almost as good as the first. What I'm saying is I don't enjoy games just because of one aspect.
I mean, if the story is the only good part, why would I replay it? I actually wan't to replay Bioshock 2. This is just my opinion. :)
I'll grant you the first one isn't scary in the least apart from that first bit in the bathysphere until you pickup the wrench, then it all goes out the window.
The first game still had an amazing, original atmosphere to it, and the graphics for it's time were top notch.
I found the combat to be quite fun with all the hacking bots to do your bidding, and setting oil on fire or electrocuting the splicers with plasmids.
Is it possible you treated it like a normal shooter and just used guns throught the game?
You would have had to use plasmids a few times, but surely you found them useful (albeit some were a direct copy from system shock II).
What sort of diappointed me about the 2nd game (I haven't played it yet) but I've seen from reviews and screenshots, that they didn't bother updating the graphics.
I would have thought this many years on, and considering how great the first games graphics were, they'd have updated the sequel, but they're clearly using the same models, same dynamic lighting, and haven't upgraded the unreal engine in any way.
