Nope, diablo 3 is a great game gameplay wise, considering the prices of other sequals that have pretty much duplicated the game, it's fine to me.
What? I use three defensives on my Monk, and in fact that's the most common layout in Inferno.kingthrall said:Everyone who has played diablo 3 knows that even with the switching option on, that you still use one from every skill category anyway. Its just not viable to switch for example from frost ray instead of another skill to fill in crucial slots.
Can you explain how to do that? Because even with the Advanced skill option turned on I can only hotkey one skill pr category. The only thing it changes for me is what keys to assign the skills to.poiumty said:False, and false. I have a monk, barbarian and wizard and I don't think I stuck with "one skill from every category" on either of them. And the monk is max level and geared for inferno.kingthrall said:LOL 4 different skill slots dont make it any more impressive.

If they wanted to make it better they would of let you have a whole hot-key arrangement on every spell/skill so that tactics and resistances would play a much higher role.
Oh and if you didnt notice all the classes have pretty much the same skills. Barbarian has Ground shake instead of Frost Nova for example.
Tell me one build in Diablo 2 that used more than 6 skills consistently.
Classes have different playstyles. That a few skills are similar means nothing next to the various combinations you can make.
Really, it's painfully obvious that you've barely played D3 and you're talking out of your ass.
I'll answer my own question because the feature is so obscure that others might have use for it.Bostur said:Can you explain how to do that? Agreed 100% here. Level 60 witchdoctor going through inferno difficulty and I use:poiumty said:False, and false. Yeah I just figured it out. The first times I tried out the 'elective mode' option, all I could make it do was switch the categories to different keys. This will actually make my witch doctor interesting and playable, can't believe Blizzard made that feature so obscure to use.poiumty said:It's called Elective Mode in the gameplay options. Turn that on, press S, go to a certain category you want to change, then you'll notice two arrows to the left and right of the skill icons. Browse through those and choose what skill/rune you want, then press Accept.Bostur said:Can you explain how to do that? And there you go, you can now be a monk with 4 mantras as his 1-4 buttons.
Or when selecting the skill use the blue arrows at either side of the skills to scroll the the subsets until you get to the skill you want for that button.Bostur said:I'll answer my own question because the feature is so obscure that others might have use for it.Bostur said:Can you explain how to do that? Go into gameplay options and the check the option "Elective Mode".
Drag a skill to a different slot, that will clear the original slot. Now a skill of the same category can be chosen for the original slot, by adding it from the skill window.
Yep, and it's been a long season. I know of a few posters here who have been bashing the game since before beta, then went on to buy it anyway (I suggested to at least one that they should perhaps save their money, considering they had already decided they hated it; this was during the open beta). And now with returns being offered, the same people continue to play, and continue to moan. Worst game ever? That's insane. It's the best game I've played so far this year.Indecipherable said:It must be the season where it's cool to hate on D3.
