I was wondering about this, considering that Episode 3 has been put off for a while. People are even starting to joke about it's release now. What do you think? Is the studio we all know and love going to pull through, or are we going to have to wait another dark night?

I just think Valve better leave their sign language homework and just release the bloody game already!

Valve will deliver.

Valve always delivers, with some damn good quality and polish to boot.

Hopefully they will scrap it and just give us a fully fledged sequel. Im tired of 4 hour long episodes.

It'll come in 3 years, Valve Time. So you can expect it 23 years ago. (Don't ask, just accept)

As much as I LOVE Valve, and I know when it comes outs it will be absolutely incredible...the lack of news or even hope that it's even been started is very disheartening.

Dude, it's been two years. Valve takes a notoriously long amount of time, but they always deliver. Be patient.

But yeah: as others have said before, and will no doubt say again: Valve is like Blizzard. They release stuff when it's ready to be released, and not a second earlier. It's certainly not the next DNF though: you'd need quite a few more years for that.

They'll release it. It will just take five years longer than it should've. Anyway, I stopped caring the second I played half-life 2. I honestly don't know why it gets such great reviews. It's good; I just don't think it's the second coming of jesus that everyone makes it out to be. It doesn't matter though, as I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the worlsd who thinks this. Sorry got off topic, yes it will come, just be patient.

EDIT: as soon as I posted I realized the horrible mistake I made, please no one start a flame war with this, I beg you all. For those who love HL2, I meant no disrespect.

FAR too early to call it that. They take their time with games, and 2 year release time is practically nothing. Give them some slack.

Me: No! That's not true! That's impossible!
Valve: Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

...a small group of fans using the SDK on their weekends could have made it by now, but instead Valve made Leaf4Dead. I'm not sure where their priorities are...

Hopefully the only delay for Ep3 is a release with Portal 2, similar to the next Orange Box. If Portal 2 has the rumered multiplayer and both it an Ep 3 live up to the Orange Box reputation I believe it will be worth the wait.

No, Duke Nukem was amazing and made me feel tingly. Half Life has never been able to make me feel tingly. In order to be the next DNF you need to have reasonable expectations behind you.

Man you guys are impatient. I thought we all knew that Valve almost always takes their time when making a game.

Like Yahtzee said - episodic games are supposed to be shorter games at cheaper prices released more frequently.

Maybe if they stopped jacking off onto L4D2 and goddamn sign language they could actually work on their flagship franchise.

Erm, they're releasing updates on its progress occasionally (sign language... is LIKE an update), so we can assume it's under construction.
