Is it justified to hate your parents for the same reason people say you should love them?

Just wondering, people say you should always love your parents because they brought you into life and without them you wouldn't be here.

Lets look at the other side of that, lets look at those who genuinely have no interest in life and hate it. We all know this life is far from perfect ... far .. FAAAAAAAAAAAAR from perfect, but is it justified to hate your parents for knowingly bringing you into this fucked up reality? especially if they know that your surroundings completely suck and will possibly result in you being miserable your entire life.

I know it's a pretty perverse thought but it's been bugging me, does anyone really have the right to feel that way? is it fair?
Wouldn't you rather direct your hate at what makes your life hell? I'm gonna say no, it's not right to hate your parents for bringing you into this world. Hate the things that make your life suck, whatever they are.
What if that was and constantly is your parents.

Then you should hate them for making your life miserable. Not for originally giving it to you. And I would say that's only justifiable if they are doing something legitimately abusive to you, because if they are making your life miserable in the same way that parents make everyone's life miserable, then you can deal with it until you're out of the house. and you still get like 40+ years to live as you choose, as opposed to <20 years following their bs rules.

What, like hating your parents because they were moron teenagers when they had you, I could see that.

Middle class kids that just have it sooooo hard dealing with "real" problems like having food on the table every night and being able to go to the doctor every time they need a school excuse need not apply though. Like, I understand you just don't know how to handle all the stress from having to go to school AND take out the trash AND do homework all in the same day, but I assure you it will only get worse once you get away from them.

No, Parents go out of their way to make you feel loved, care for you and love you, regardless of how you treat them... they may seem like they dont love you, maybe even dont want to know you, but deep down inside, they do love you. So dont they deserve the same?

God no, anyone who acts like it's their parents fault for bringing them into a shithole of a world (which it isn't by the way, life is beautiful and more people need to realize that) is a whiny bastard.
You hit the nail on the head. Every time someone tries to tell me they have no faith in humanity, I no longer wish to speak with that person. It's a stupid, overly cynical thing to say.

Life isn't that bad and hating those who brought you into it isn't going to make it better.
Unfortunately it seems as though being cynical is cool nowadays. Why enjoy life when you can actively seek out depression?
Too fucking right! I'm a metalhead and a geek, two subcultures at the centre of the "cynicism-is-cool" bullshit. It has to stop, people are depressed enough already.

Alright, I'll go tell all the children out that that their parents had just to get more food stamps and other support from the government so they can hang out and do drugs all day that they're being whiny bastards for hating their parents for completely ignoring them.

Being overly cynical is bad, but so is being overly "yay life is beautiful". Not everyone gets born to parents who care about them, so maybe try being a little less judgmental next time. Some people probably have very good reasons to hate their parents. Even if they manage to make okay to 18 and get the fuck out of there and make a decent life for themselves later, they still had a shitty life to start with, and who are you exactly to tell them that they weren't born in a shithole?
So blame your parents for being crap parents, not for giving birth to you.

You should love your parents because they love you and care for you. If they dont, then you have no obligation to love them. Parents are obligated to love their kids no matter what, but that is the ONLY instance of love because of relation. Otherwise families should have to earn eachothers love and respect as a non family member.

There's being cynical, and there's being an attention seeking douchebag. Sadly a lot of people are the latter.

I think that it's arrogant that they should expect love from you like it was a given. I don't think you should hate them for that reason. I just don't think you should blindly love people just because they birthed you.

I personally don't hate my parents for bringing me into the world, I hate them for being terrible parents and treating my being born like a burden I placed on them.
If you where effected by them drinking or smoking or then I still think you should hate them for being a**-holes and not because you where born.

Otherwise, grow a pair.
I know it's cool to hate on entire groups of people when you haven't bothered to learn anything about them but seriously you people need to grow up, simply put this was a thread about unconditional love, not your views on the pessimistic and Cynics. And you all have all completely mixed up your opinion with fact, people are aloud to have what ever opinion or out look they like and they don't need you giving them a hard time about it. Maybe more people would have more faith in humanity if you weren't judging, condemning and firing abuse at large gropes of people without knowing anything about them, their reasons, or even the context or events leading up to the formation of their opinion.

Simple, for every good thing you can name, there's twice as much bad things in life.

Not everyone can put on a smile and ignore the problems they deal with. Not to mention that depression or being cynical can be actual mentaly caused problems that aren't because it's the 'in' thing, but more that they can't help it without medication and psychiatrists.

Life is great and horrible. It's a blend of heaven and hell.

I'm happy I have friends.

I'm sad that they've moved so far away I may never see them again.

I'm happy I have spending money.

I'm sad that it doesn't last and that my family suffers due to poverty.

Unless that persons parents have been abusive towards said child then I personally believe that if they hate them then they are a pitiful individual.

I have no time at all for a person that would hate their parents for no good reason whatsoever.

There is no justification barring child abuse in hating your parents.

They feed you, water you, cloth you and put a roof over your head and the thanks they get is hatred.

People that do that deserve no pity or remorse or help just scorn.
