I lost the count of how many times i facepalmed at the video. She didn't even stop to think, she just kept runnin and randomly shooting the portal-gun like a headless chicken.
She can't really complete this game without watching guides on internet, and if it takes this long to get one puzzle right i have hard time imagining her completing one in later challenges without atleast 5 videos of her is trying to solve it.

I suppose they're not as bad as she is, but have you seen Rob Moran's 2-player [http://www.urealms.com/content.php?279] of Portal 2? They spend about 8 minutes trying to figure out the signal buttons and most of the game trying to kill each other...

At least they solve the puzzles eventually.

ohhhhhhhhh yeah. it IS possible to be that bad at portal. i had two of my freinds over, girls that dont game, and they decided to play portal cause they were watching me play and it looked fun. so i put them on co-op mode. i was trying to explain how portals work, and helped them solve a few puzzles (the first ones, with me coaching took about 10 minutes each) then let them go nuts cause i was ready to punch a baby. it was... dreadful. worse than that even.

Ah, IJustine... Here's a tip, whenever she starts getting stuck just skip forwards about 2 minutes if shes still stuck just skip forwards again until she's unstuck... It really helps with the rage XD

Yeah. Well, as someone whose mother would probably suffer the same, there are some people for whom video games just don't make sense.

My mum can play Wii Bowling, and Wii Tennis, but she is always slow and needs help - she'll miss the ball more often than not on the latter and always looks confused playing the former.

It's the exact same reason why I've never tried asking her to play anything any more complicated, and certainly not a traditional, joypad-controlled game. Some people just don't "get" video games, because they came after the chance came for the brain to develop the necessary synapses for the reactions, I guess.

So yes, it is quite easy to be THAT bad at Portal.

It sounds like your mom has a controls issue. It doesn't take a genius (who doesn't play games) to figure out that the portals are two-way.

At least I find Tobuscus hilarious and I like his personality. He has been able to get two to three puzzles done in 10 to 20 minutes (so far). He's gradually learning, albeit slowly.

Watching Ijustine is very frustrating, to say the least. I remember when she only had one to two channels and I didn't like her then either. She's what you get when people coast by on life on their looks. Sad thing is, they tend to breed the most as well.
