It seems like I'm always late to join the bandwagon these days. But these past few weeks I've been becoming increasingly interested in TF2. But since it's been out for a couple of years already, I thought I'd make sure it's worth it. I'd rather not spend my Christmas money on it now and have a sequel announced in a month, you know? So some advice from a few current players would be greatly appreciated. :) Thank you!

It is never too late. Never.

Go buy it now. Then once you're on Steam get Counter Strike Source and Day of Defeat Source as well, then wave goodbye to your life.

There's never a too late to join that game. It don't have a beggining or an end so just jump on at any time. I did last year and it's fantastic.

I've been playing tf2 for about a year now. I don't see them doing a sequel anytime soon, seeing as how the game gets a ton of updates all the time. They are just adding new content. It's an absolute steal at $20 is you don't have it.

Also, it's even easier to adjust if you've not played yet, as many players coming back are overwhelmed by new content.

Take it form me who also joined recently its not to late to join in now. Sure everybody will be running around with weapons and hats that you don't have, but you will get them eventually or you could trade for some. Its a fun game that also is surprisingly nice to new players.

Its only £3.50 on steam and its bloody brilliant. I doubt they'll make a sequel for a while, its easy to get into and its fun.

I seriously doubt Valve could get away with opening their cash shop thing and then announcing a sequel a month later.

On topic though, TF2 is still a fairly good game with a strong community - the only issue now is the traders but they can be ignored or avoided on the right servers.

Also, February isn't really a month renowned for it's game announcements, surely.

You don't have to worry about a sequel coming around anytime soon (TF2 took nine years to make). However, the game isn't really what it used to be anymore. The crafting, trading, store, and overload of items really did more harm to it than good, to the point where I honestly just can't play it anymore.

But if you just go into it now, I guess you wouldn't know what it was like before anyway, so go for it; it's still got a very active community.

I got into the game last month, and although it's difficult to stay alive at first you can improve your game experience simply by browsing the New User Forum. Some really great stuff in there :)

Team Fortress is a fantastic shooter, and it's never too late to get in on the action. However, many people will try to convince hats and items are a big deal. The game trying to be touted by Valve as America's number 1 war-themed hat simulator, but it's not really. It's a fantastic Multiplayer First person shooter with lots of internally coherent advertising to features of the game which you can get for free if you play enough (which don't do anything.)
This is what the game is like And this is what people complain about

Absolutely not. You may get overwhelmed for a bit, but once you settle in, it's massive whirlwind of fun.

It's never too late to get into America's greatest war-themed hat simulator. I mean, I started last spring, and I've had a lot of fun with the game despite my low skill level and low computer specs.

Just jump in whenever. Maybe try it on one of those "free to play" weekends that crop up occasionally.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO START SETTING THINGS ON FIRE.

Like spies.

Spies are fun to watch burn.

Especially when they're trying to hide.
