There is nothing wrong with men crying. It shows they have emotions that are fairly strong, and there are plenty of situations where not crying is a bit strange.

Eh, I don't really give a damn if guys cry. No reason for them not to.
If my boyfriend was crying, I wouldn't have a go at him and make things worse, I'd give him a hug and try to make things better.
No reason for men not being allowed to cry.
It could probably be seen as a form of sexism, "women can cry, men can't".
Anyone can cry whenever the hell they need to. Keeping sadness bottled up is bad.

Nothing at all wrong with crying. Helps find release and is very healthy. Repressing feelings or crying is never good. Hysterically crying at the smallest things however... Also not good.

The only things I would/have cried about in the last 5 years are serious enough to warrant tears.

I wouldn't be ashamed if anyone knew that I've cried, as long as they understand the reasons why.

I haven't cried in years (Though I was close to at the end of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), but I don't find it wrong. Letting out your emotions will always be better for you. Unless it's emotions of aggression, and you let them out on a person. Then you'll probably regret it in a cell.

It's fine.

But I'm still relieved that I've never actually shed a tear over any film or game.

Damn, I've been close though.
Watership Down
Das Boot
Black Hawk Down
The Terminal
Dragon Age
Mass Effect 2

Usually it's people being Big Damn Heroes that gets me, rather than anything sad. Except for the first two. I don't like to think about it. Especially the poor rabbits.
the terminal is an awesome movie ^^ kudos to you

I actually cried to Schindlers list.

And I welled up a little bit to Toy Story 3.
On and that bit in Up.

But actually cried to a movie.
I'm not ashamed of that :)

I generally prefer to keep such things private, and seldom fell tears anyway, but there's of course nothing wrong in others choosing to express their feelings publicly.

I don't believe crying harms anyone, why would it be wrong? I cry whenever I need to, and pose the same question to anyone who heckles me. Typically the resulting discussion lasts for only a single unique exchange:

AA "Stop crying, "
BA "Why?"
AB "Because it's gay"
BB "And this affect you... how?"
AC ""

Now, if male tears were manly enough to eject themselves with some considerable force at a 90* angle from the body, mowing down all onlookers in their bloody wake, then, yeah, I'd have a problem with it.

No, and I think its fucking disgusting how men are programmed to be soulless robots in that way.
Seconded. Stupid macho bullshit,
I'll quote this, because it is an important statement, and I agree wholly with the sentiment.

I cry whenever I hear Jor-El's speech from Superman. 'They can be a great people Kal, El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show them the way'

It's perfectly fine. When it comes to games and movies, I tend to cry more at moments of powerful emotion, although moments of sadness still affect me. Mostly Big Damn Heroes moments and scenes of loss.

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head here. I can't watch certain movies with my friends anymore because they don't stop giving me shit about it.

I would say it isn't wrong.

I have to note, however, that I haven't cried openly like with streaming tears and such for years, but should something occur that prompts me to, I probably wouldn't bother holding it in.

I mean, what do you gain?

Of course it's ok for men to cry, and it's this stupid point of view that programed me to the point I never cried at my grandmother's funeral, the men don't cry mentality can go to hell.

I agree, crying over everything is just stupid. But if you have a good reason to cry, then cry like you have never cried before.

I hope it's not wrong.

I cry at the drop of a hat, basically.

Most recently, I cried at the end of Fruits Basket and came close to tears at the end of "The Fighter". Hell, I cried at the end of Dragon Age: Origins.

I cry "happy" tears, even. Even when everything wraps up nicely.
You cried after Fruits Basket? Better stay far away from Clannad then.

And go with Smugleaf.
