Why hate? The bad games don't hurt you, and you must have enjoyed at least one EA game.

Ok, fine, the list of Sims titles is insane, a similar thing will probably happen to Spore (a game I seem to have a weakness too...)

EA doesn't make sports games. They make a sports game and release it every single year, the only recognizable difference being a slightly updated roster (which could and should easily be handled through DLC at this point). Their general business strategy is to buy up a successful franchise and start releasing cookie-cut clones of the game over and over and over again... and then blaming the developers when sales start dropping, and trashing the company they bought up. And, like any company that's gotten too big for its own good, they have entire teams of people devoted to figuring out just how much bullshit they can get away with (answer: a lot), including treating their employees like Relymiah and saving money on beta testers by releasing a broken game with promises to patch it.

Or, you could just read axia777's post on page one of this thread.

They've been behaving better as of late, apparently being considered the biggest assholes in the industry made them rethink some things. Lately Activision is coming across as the biggest jerkoff, what with the mass cancellations of Vivendi proterties etc.

Well we've all pretty much agreed that the treatment of its staff is ridiculous, the games are pretty much hit and miss at times and that they are trying to clear up their name and general business image. (which is turning out to be harder than they hoped for. Because for some of use, we may forgive what they have done, but we sure as hell won't forget)
On a further note, there's also a steady in crease in negative feed back towards Ubisoft and Activision. Which may make for a good discussion in the near future.
