I like how 360 fanboys insult the Wii and call it all sorts of unmanly names, as Wii Fit quietly destroys Halo 3 in sales.
Not to be fanboyish but Wii fit isnt a game, its a gimmick that people buy because they have nothing to do with their Wii after the usuals are done, when Mario, Zelda, ect games are done what is their left to play on the Wii? Not much untill the next ones come out. And dont make the No more Heros argument, No one buys the Wii for no more heros or Madworld

And the thing with Wii fit making you lose waight I find impossible, the only thing that helps you get fit is proper exersize and a good diet. And I personally dont belive that Wii fit gives you the same workout as playing basket ball for an hour with some friends at a park.

Anyway

I am a huge nintndo fan, I love Mario, but the thing that ruins it for me is the "new" way to play games. When I play a game its the smething as watching a movie, to relax, have fun, yet be challenging. I dont wanna be standing up waving my hands and what not, its like having to stand during a movie? Would you do it? Gaming *(to me)* is sitting on my sofa with a controler and lounging. I dont wanna be putting that much effort. I spend countless hours at the gym to keep mybody, I dont need my entertainment to do it for me.

The Wii itself is not a bad system. I mean, sure the graphics are below average, and the motion detection could use a little tweaking, but if you put work into a game, you can get some seriously nice games.

The major problem is who the system was marketed to, that being everyone. Since gamers are not the primary market of this system, being far outnumbered by the other people buying the Wii, developers are simply making games that appeal to the larger market, which also happens to be the market that doesn't care about graphics or length of gameplay. So the Wii has provided developers a way to be lazy and make staggering amounts of money at the same time, which is a pretty tempting offer.

There have been a few games that have really shown that the Wii can be a system for actual gamers, but it's simply more profitable for developers to make it a system for everyone else.

Yes because Sales is what makes a good game.

The Wii isn't bad but isn't good neither. It has it's moments but you really couldn't call it a "gaming console", it's more like a box in which sometimes gold magically appears, but takes about 1 - 2 or 3 years for more gold to appear.

I think the wii had fps potential. Remote glitches aside aiming in the James bond quantum of solace game was actually quite good and smooth though the rest of the game it pretty bad. Bad as it is it shows that the gaming console had some form of potential. Shame nobody made use of it.

i don't think it's as bad as everyone says. it was a novelty console, and like all novelties it got old. but i don't think this makes it bad. it just seems so in comparison to the 360/ps3. people are just too hard on it.

See my above post. And just to burst your bubble, the defacto truth is that sales DO make a good game. After all, we're not talking about art here, we're talking about a consumer product, so, yeah, sales = success.

You know, just FYI.

I'm not a fan of flaming consoles. Each console is unique and each is made for different kinds of people. The Wii was made for people who enjoy classic games and casual gamers who just like to play off something for an hour or two.

It might be success, but that doesn't mean the game is actually good. It depends on what the game is "centered" on. Look at Psychonauts for e.g: Poor Sales, but awesome game.

Sales don't make a good game.

Maybe MadWorld is good, but not the mountain of Sonic shovelware they've been making for a few years now.
Anyways, the Wii is an excellent system that has ton of potential (you can see it in most first-party games, such as Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess), but the 3rd party developers aren't using it, and just marketing more cheap games than decent (and I don't mean OMG 3RD PERSON BLOODFEST OF BROWN GRAY GRAPHICS ZOMG!) games.

The console of choice of a lot of gamers is the XBox 360. Some of them belong to the group of 'fanboys', which simply means that they can't take it when someone else might have chosen another console than the one they did. So they go on internet forums and bashing that console, which is most often the Wii.

Wii Fit is like an excerise video, not a video game. Coupled with a good diet and healthy habits it can help you lose weight.

Nope, sorry. Wii Fit was proven as ineffective method of losing weight.

I don't think the Wii itself is complete crap......

And while I don't really agree with everything Nintendo is doing, I keep in mind that they are a business, and that it's not like they're the only ones doing shit that doesn't sit right with me.

However, I can't deny that although I don't think the Wii is that bad, it sure isn't being played much. The sheer amount of shovelware that Nintendo is allowing to be slapped in the Wii's face is just ridiculous, with really fun worthwhile games coming few and far between (to me at least).

But what really makes it a huge dissapointment is when you hear about games like "Winter" and the remake of Fatal Frame. One was cancelled, and the other one thus far doesn't look like it's going to be released outside Japan. So when you've got a gaming platform that's waving through heaps of SHIT and saying "more please" while failing to deliver games with real potential, it makes it difficult to not just roll your eyes and tell it to fuck off.

The console had the most potential out of all 3, but I tihnk Nintendo left some major problems in it. The remote is just too insensitive to use in a serious game! And because of that, they rarely release serious games... The other thing that annoys me, is that the wii's graphics CAN be good, on games such as Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, or Guitar Hero III (where I think the wii graphics were better than the XBOX or PS3), but nintendo can never be bothered to animate them well (such as on Force Unleashed).
There also seems to be a new peripheral out every week, and that's just a money spinner. That was when I gave up and got an XBOX 360 instead...

It's not bad, just not aimed at the same target range of people as this website. I don't think its a bad console, just doesn't meet it's potential.

The Wii is the only console in my living room. WHy? Because I play it with my family. My Dad personally wants Wii Fit, so I'm considering getting it. One of the best nights we've had together was being sat playing Wii Sports.

Now, I still get the single-player staples (actually, My Mum and I do have a Galaxy profile for two-player) such as No More Heroes, but I play them when no-one else is around. So, yes, the Wii is crap is you live alone. I wont get the shovelware, I refuse too. But, hey, wii (I did it on purpose, there) might have a nice night together playing Wii Music or something.

What annoys me the most about the Wii is the region lock. The wii already has few games that appeal to me, and over half the games that DO interest me never get released in Europe.
