For Zelda maybe, but for most of their other ones, it's been 1, and again, still tracking down that article, but i'm running out of time i can waste on a form, lol. Homework, your annoying call like a noisy cousin or bird that won't shut up.
Well I don't think there's any underlying plot to rob us fans and dole the games out 1 per franchise per console like you do.. I mean with Metroid they skipped a console then released 2 on the Gamecube.

Mario.. it's really hard to pin down because he gets put in so many crossover games.

Sometimes they release a new version of a franchise on each new console because fans want it (or they anticipate that fans will) or they just want to take advantage of the new console. Remember because nobody is as familiar with the console as the first party, they're able to take best advantage of it and in a lot of cases, Nintendo 1st party titles are tech demos of the new console as much as they are good games (in fact some damn good franchises were started out as tech demos.. see F-zero)..

Anyway.. that's why you'll pretty much see a mario kart game on each new console.. and I don't think fans would have it any other way in that instance.

I'm still waiting for a Star Fox and Fzero game on the Wii. (they have mentioned interest in developing a Wii Starfox)
I could have sworn that i read this somewhere though, and it's bugging me to no end that i can't find it. and i know the 1st party still has to be making something, but their big, main series seems to only release one a console, and i know i read this somewhere. My point in all of this was that since Nintendo seems to have only garbage third party games except for possibly a handful of diamonds in the pools of human waste, they need to be releasing more of their good series, their juggernaut titles. Every bit of news I've seen about the Wii as of late has been that they got nothing good coming out, or atleast to me. My other argument of poor marketing choices going for the casual gamer still stands aswell.
Well a few of their projects as far as I know...

Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)
Legend of Zelda: No Title Announced Yet (Wii)
Wii Sports Resort which might not be something that great by itself, will include the Wii motion plus which is an improvement on the motion sensing, making it more possible to track 1:1 motion (where currently it can only track vague directions) which will be useful for other games.
Punch Out!!
Excitebots
New Play Control series (they're released Pikmin and Mario Tennis so far, planning on Pikmin 2, Metroid Primes 1 and 2 as far as I know (hmm wonder if they'll do Windwaker..))

Then like I said there's rumors of a Starfox, and 2d DS Metroid game
Zelda's Ok on the DS, but i'm referring to the fact that we should have heard of something new for a new Wii Zelda when there's been nothing by now, two and a half years later. I don't really count Wii Sports as one of their "big series". It was good, but it just doesn't have the history of Zelda, Metroid, Mario(platforming, not one of the other genres or titles he likes to prostitute himself out to), ect. All the other games you've mentioned don't nearly carry the weight of those games. They may be coming out with Metroid on the DS, but this is still about Wii, and so far, Starfox has been just like everything else, rumors. It's been months since they've announced an established series' worth while game continuation. I'm sure there are some decent third party games coming out, at least a handful...or one, but most of it just...isn't, so their first party devs really need to get on the ball and pick up the slack.

Haha I've had this question as well. The Wii did have a good start and a good reputation in the start, but I have just been noticing many games don't really go into its full potential. Wonder if there's a game that will make my Wii worth while.. :p

Its only good game is Brawl which i hardly think justifies the 300 dollars+tax spent on it. Probably the worst purchase I've ever made.

its named after pee!!! of course its horrid. all they need to do now is to make something called the Puu its not that im biased against the wii, its just that it gets trampled every time by the PS3's Cell computing system and the Xbox 360's (im not sure which) 3 or 30 gig memory system. its just that its so cheap! thats why there is so many of them. i personally don't own one for fear of catching the "gay" virus that has been going around in my office building. i heard two of my friends talking about what an awesome piece of furniture they got on animal crossing city folk instead of the usual "i t-bagged 30 n00bs last night on halo 3! case and point, gayness is contagious. oh, and don't you simpering nitwits come biotching to me about me hating gays. im only making a point.

No. The Wii isn't bad. In fact, if you can look beyond its weak capabilities, its a pretty decent little machine, and it had a very strong start with first party exclusives like Galaxy and Twilight Princess. The problem is is that third party developers haven't been making good games for it, they've just been dishing out crappy minigames, because with the Wii, you don't have to please a hardcore audience, you just have to please a 5 year-old. Sega seems to be taking some steps to try to save the Wii, with Overkill, Madworld, and the Conduit. I really hope that the Conduit is good, because that's the kind of game that could draw a more hardcore Wii-owning audience back in, who I assume have been somewhat alienated by the release drought of decent games on the Wii. Hopefully, third parties will start to show the Wii some love, and it could get pulled back from the brink.

I'm hoping the conduit is good too I mean the control system of the console is just BUILT for shooters, it's time to really put it to the test. The game so far looks beautiful for a Wii game as well.

The wii is fine, but I feel that it needs more FPS, survival horror or otherwise 'serious' games. Could you imagine Bioshock, using the wii controls? Would be quite claustrophobic.

Has some good games and some games we expected to be great turned out to suck! I don't care if they have alot of casual games but they could have atleast made Mario Kart or Brawl not fail so hard!

Also on a personal note I hate having to use the wireless remote to connect to the Wii in order to use it, should be able to use classical remotes too in my opinion.

err.. no
brawl wasnt even that good

but games like No more heroes, Galaxy, disaster day of crisis and budokai tenkaichi 3 from the top of my head are all brilliant

also, the conduit does look darn good
generic? maybe
is that a bad thing? no, cause the wii doesnt have a decent generic fps yet
it's got QOS which is supposed to be alright, farcry vengeance which is supposed to be shite and red steel which is supposed to be okay
plus the conduit will be mainly bought for online multiplayer which should hopefully be the best on wii so far

No it is not. The shitty 3rd party "party games" are
Right on the money. The Nintendo Seal of Approval seems to be flying around and being given out for the same price as a watered down cardboard box.

Excuse me, but I played No More Heroes and I thought it was rubbish. Those assassin missions were terrible and repetitive, while the jobs were probably better than your average Mario Party minigame they were still pretty boring, and the boss fights were the only thing that pulled me through the first half of the game.

And then came that tunnel level.

You run down a tunnel, killing boring enemies who die slowly, and then you miss out on the only good part of the game. What the hell were the developers thinking? That the combat against average enemies was good enough? Sorry, it wasn't. I put the game down at that point and returned it to the library.

And the dialogue is so ridiculously juvenile it is beyond belief. The fanservice whenever a female character appears is pathetic.

I'd be interested in other people's opinions on why it was good, but personally, if they make a sequel it would be better following Madworld's lead rather than the original game's.
Because the game is ridiculous. You are the 11th ranked assassin in the world, and you earn money from mowing somebody's lawn? The game is supposed to be seriously messed up. Also, where did the "fanservice whenever a female character appears" come from? This is a new IP, and I'm pretty sure that a completely unrelated character to anything but the game itself is in no way "fanservice." You can certainly call the assassination missions boring, I'll stick with knocking coconuts down and playing with my cat.

But the thing that I love it for is it's ridiculous attention to detail in the wrong places. While you may not think so, the game is funny as hell. The characters are so balls-to-the-walls that I really don't want to push any sort of a skip cutscene button. Yes, the tunnel level was the biggest piece of crap in the game, but thats a minute detail for me. I love it, you don't simple as that. Also, the game was released for the wii, have you not noticed the lack of Jack Thompsoning going on?

I used to hate the Wii, so I bought a 360. But now, after seeing virtual console, I really would love one. But then again, I'd like a PS3 too..... Ahh =[

The Wii is not bad at all. If anything, it's the PS3 that's the worst of the consoles. And b4 any of u that get off on PS3 decide to attack me, let me just say it now: I feel the ONLY reason that the PS3 is so bad is because it's so damn expensive.

Besides, The Wii has some good games like RE4, House of the Dead...I cant think of any more, but i know there are some more good games out there.

The Wii isn't BAD, but it's better served as an "accessory" system. Anyone who is really into console gaming would be ill served to just get a Wii. A Wii with a PS3 or 360 is a GREAT combination, because you still have the power console to appeal to your hardcore tastes, while the Wii can appeal to the casual gamers as well as it's select few but insanely fun exclusives. Also, the Gamecube BC is a nice feature since it seems to do the last-gen emulation better than the 360 and PS3, so you also have a nice selection of cheap, used games you can pick up at a local GameStop.

People who doesn't know enough about the wii assume that every game is as bad/gimmicky as wii sports.

yes the wii lacks games for the more hardcore audience compared to the other consoles, but it has those as well, theres just not that many of them.

The controlls can be awesome when used right
When game designers just use it as a mindless gimmick you might as well use a playstation one handed while wanking with the other, it'll be more pleasureful that way.

The wii is not a bad console, and once the game developers learns how to use the controlls they'll be worth gold, and it'll become really good.
