The fact that in manners of dress, men have rules, women have to rely on intuition.
You have that backwards... Men usually just put on the first pair of pants, shirt, underwear, and socks that they touch.

Women... I have no idea how they decide what to wear, or why it takes em so damned long to do it.

I've grown quite fond of my penis.

Standing up while peeing.

Peeing into bottles.

Peeing while walking.

Peeing while snowboarding/skiing.

Being able to direct urine streams (for instance, if you were getting mugged and you were naked, all you'd have to do was aim for the eyes. I have the feeling it'd feel a lot like pepper spray.)

Also, the 1950's woman did all the cooking and cleaning for you. You were considered king of your own household. Obviously that's dated now, but yeah. Authority.
Is that why marriage is referred to as the "ball and chain" by men nowadays?

Most people strive for the day that they no longer need to go to work, I don't see why women would want to give that up, well I do, it was big corporation propaganda. In WW2 said big corporations realised how much more money they could be making if both men and women went to work but that's a story for another time. I'd love to be a male 1950s style housewife if it was still affordable (damn corporations :p).

Just saying.

No "morning after" pill, no consequences of sex (apart from any std's you may get if unprotected)
I have a problem with these two points.

The morning after pill one: I'd love a way for men to legally abort a their child, but they don't, they lose all control over the child. A man can't even abort their financial responsibility over the child if the woman refuses to listen to the man's pleas.

No consequences part: pregnancy is a consequence for the man too for reasons I just outlined.

Condoms aren't 100% effective.

From observation, it seems that guys are alot less stressed in general. Plus we can pee standing up.
Guys tend to hide their distress more. But the peeing things is definitely right.
This is true, especially at the age extremes. Younger men tend not to deal well with serious mental/emotional issues for fear of being perceived as weak or incapable, older men do it because they don't want to be a burden on anyone else. Basically it boils down to a mindset of "I am a man and therefore I should be fully capable of handling this alone".

Also, what is the obsession in this thread with peeing? I was not aware this was such a hot issue in gender studies...
Obsession? It's no obsession, it's clearly a major physical advantage recognized by most men. Tell me, how could you, for example, take a piss in someone else's pocket without them noticing (well.. not right away) if you can't pee standing up? See what I mean?

Point proven.

O.T.

YES! another hundred post milestone about a bodily fluid!

Guys get fucked over in custody battles and are more likely to face prison time or a harsher punishment for an equivalent crime.

To answer the OP, I can't think of much that guys in the US *in general* have over girls. Sure, most of the rich CEOs are white males, but the VAST majority of white males are not rich CEOs. I'm certainly not.

Guys do have the physical capabilities thing going for them, though.

Men get to have penises. It may not sound like much, but I believe that men value their genitals much more than women value theirs.

Pissing standing up, less work to get end off, stronger (mostly), more awesome at lifting heavy stuff and opening jars, still ruling the world (mostly).

On topic: like everyone else said low maintenance both in our physical bodies and socially.

Off topic because it annoys me:
I don't get why everyone thinks being a white male is so much better than being anything else. I never got any kind of advantages growing up. There were so many programs and scholarships for African-Americans, or hispanic-Americans, many of which were not even clearly marked as such. My family is in the lowest bracket for income, but my mother couldn't get any extra help. I distinctly remember going to the family services building ( I don't actually know what it is called) and them telling my mother that because we weren't "socioeconomically disadvantaged" we couldn't get any help.

I never got any kind of advantage for being white. But I've seen plenty of people getting all kinds of advantages for not being white.

Google scholarships for African-Americans.
then Google scholarships for white americans.

One will get you a huge list.
The other will get you controversy.

There are a lot of white males in existence. Most of us are not part of the rich elite. In fact, most of us are down at the bottom with everyone else.

As a male I will never have to force another living being out of my own body. Plus I can stand up and pee. Seems like a pretty good gig to me.

Also peeing standing up. Can't emphasise how great that is.
You have won the thread, good sir.

Sometimes, I wish the Escapist forums were more like /b/ so threads like this could be stopped more quickly.
