Probably the most significant is a one hit wonder band named after a local store. There's been all sorts of filming here because the town pretty much epitomizes white upper-middle class America.

Would you say that those are accurate depictions of Tenessee...ans? I'm actually curious. (Also curious to know the Demonym of Tennessee.)
Tennesseans I guess(?) at least that's what my spell check says :/

And no, it's not for all of them. There are good people here. They're just few and far between.

Hell, that can really be applied to anywhere you go, but here it's worse considering the normal person here is a hunting, homophobic, overly religious, military bigot with a total of 3 teeth whereas I am a vegetarian, omnisexual atheist who is anti military with good dental care :D
Dang, that sucks. I guess it's a cultural thing though; I remember a couple of explanations from sociology class.

I find it kind of unfortunate because most of the US is actually quite beautiful. But it seems that a fair bit of the country is pretty far off politically, and worse, strengthened in their resolve by the fact that they live in the most powerful nation on Earth. The things I'd do with a blank slate there though, there's so much potential.

Sandy white beaches(with globs of oil now) and the first European settlement in what is now the USA. Or at least it would have been if a frickin' hurricane didn't smash it to pieces. Est. 1559 by the Spanish.

It's also the site of the primary training station for all US Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard naval aviators. The Blue Angles are pretty popular too.

Ah, well that's understandable.

Shoulda sued his ass though.

Pretty wimpy to be throwing a snapple bottle.

That's like saying "I killed a guy with a Zima bottle"
or by a tea cup...

They're everywhere.

I can't go out without hearing someone complaining about N*****s or W******s. Those are the main two here.

Oh, and shit about Obama being Muslim.

My home town Lawrence is known for its astounding cannabis industry. You likely have never heard of the place, but those who know of my home town's name know what I am talking about.

My current city is known for Al Capone, among other things.

I was born in Phoenix AZ. It's known for being the meth capital of the US. Hence the nickname "Valley of the Spun"

New Bedford is known for two things. Whale hunting and having one of the lowest response rates of all time on America's most wanted. That being said, we tend to focus on the Whale Hunting we use to do over the other stuff. We have the largest Whaling museum and even have a passage about the city in Moby Dick.

Fredrick Douglas escaped from Baltimore and came here (He actually lived here before going to New York and actually took the surname Douglas from the person who took him in.) and we supposedly had a big role in the underground railroad....we have really wiki page.

I actually liked those movies. Not sure why everyone seemed to hate them so much....

Absolutely nothing. Read the Urban Dictionary entry for North Reading. It is about 95% true.

I went to the same high school as Criss Angel (illusionist) and Joel Rifkin (serial killer).

Other than that, I'm not really sure.

I really liked Pitch Black but I thought The Chronicles Of Riddick was ok it's just like yahtzee said Vin Diesel just didn't understand what made the first such a great movie... and the animated one was ok if a little brief it did it's job...

I can admit that it wasn't as good as Pitch Black, but I still liked CoR.

They made an animated movie?
