Yeah I could certailny seeing myself doing something like that at 7...if my dad hadn't taught me gun safety.

Seriously parents, teach your kids. Ignorance breeds stupidity.

You think modern society is bad? Have you no sense of history!?

Shame about the kid. But hey...shit happens, why dwell on it?
Well you got me their, but still I find it rediculous that this stuff happens even though we are considered "civilized".
We're monkey's, far more prone to acting on impulse, rather than reason than we are comfortable with admitting. Seems little point in being idealistic, or insisting on a way that the world "should be"...I'm really not sure where I'm going with this. I have just noticed that I'm a happier person since I've lowered my expectations of my fellow man...let go a little, you know?

Is there ANY reason to be keeping a loaded gun around the house?
I so fail to see the reasoning for "the right to bear arms" other then decadence.
A strong nation should know when to put parts of it's history behind it, even if it would take a few generations to cleanse.

I'm just going to go ahead and rip of the people that love gun rights.

"If the student also had a gun he could have defended himself. Obviously we need more guns, not less" :D

PS: their all ways seems to be someone on Australian radio who says this when one of these incidents happens.

I'm progun. However, I would say you must pass a certain test and age to have one. I'm also willing to say that only teachers should have them in school.
Good compromise?

Edit:
read OP.
Keep that shit away from kids. And teach them not to use them. And lock them. and not have them loaded.

To true. I had a big issue with caring to much about this stuff in high school. It wasn't until close to the end of that that I realized why should I care, just facepalm and move on.

Inbetween Columbine, the Virginia tech shooting, and basically every other major violent event in the world nowadays this honestly doesn't even phase me. I've seen this shit a million times first the parents will be blamed but that will soon be dropped. Next gun control laws, and then finally the ultimated boogey man for this kinda of stuff. Video games and maybe drugs (100 dollars on marijuana of all things.) Goddamnit I fucking hate people.

Recently, a freshman student got shot at a local store, there not sure if he'll survive and even if he does he'll probably be paralyzed by the waist-down for the rest of his life.

The worst part is the fact that the guy who shot the student was 7 YEARS OLD.

Apparently the kid found a loaded 9mm pistol in his house, went outside and fired off a random round, right into the back of the poor student. Who the hell leaves a loaded gun in the house with a 7 year old!? And just where were the parents?

What do you think about this?

Wow. Talk about random chance...
I wonder if there will be a big gun control argument now...
I have no aversion to gun control, as long as guns are not banned. Control will prevent guns from landing in the hands of people who would willingly leave a pistol laying out in their house, while knowing a 7 year old is there. Not even the NRA would condone that.

All in all, I would hold the parents accountable for this. Regardless of what gun laws a country has, leaving the gun in an area accessible by a 7 year old can only lead to pain a misery.

In Australia guns must be secured in an immovable safe. Until recently the ammo also had to be kept separately( A second secure cabinet). Do the gun laws in America have any regulations like this, or are people permitted to store them in whichever way they see fit? Just a bit curious. :p
