Well, Awhile ago, back when school was in session, there was this kid, complete dick, but i never felt like making a big deal about the things he did, but it came to ahead around the time something happened.

We were in a class, when the kid decided to be rambo and took a sharpened pen cap and a rubber band, shot it into a girls side, penetrated about an inch deep. not only did he not get any serious punishment, he got to skip the lesson by being sent out in the hall(This is High School, how is that appropriate punishment!?!). I did nothing.

But the more i thought it about it, the more i felt like i shoulda done something.
So I did.

I walked up the kid about 3 days later, punched his lights out.

I got about a weeks worth of suspension, but once i got back, the Thank Yous from the kids he constantly tortured made me feel better than ever. Totally worth it.

Now the first part, thats what your talking about, right?

Couldn't it be argued that our "power" is essentially our darkness? That it is our light that GUIDES this darkness into what is good that we fear we will lose?

Wow. I would have broken his hand right there.

At least you showed restraint?

I once saw a woman getting raped and all I did was fap to it.
First off, what the hell. Second off, wrong time of story. This is about people putting themselves down instead of reaching thier potentials. Not people letting someone's life get destroyed beacuse they're a wimp.
It's a troll, please do not feed it.

dont worry he just got ban hammered for another thread i was in. i believe it was one of the greatest conversations in human history... but i digress. troll. banned. the world is a better place.

oh and geez i forgot to say... i think that its pointless. people are who they are. there are ODST's and mice. who are you? and reading a poem is not going to put sweet armor on a mouse.

What I mean to say is, our strength, as a human, is that we can contruct, we can put labels on things. The fact that we think, that we learn, that we can shape the objects in this world is our strength. We do not fear this power, mostly because there is so much that is more powerful than ourselves out there. Animals are much more powerful than we are, maybe in strength, maybe in speed, etc. Parasites, Bacteria, these can overpower us from the inside. We may have a ways to put them aside, but the fact still exists, that thousands of lives are taken by disease.

Human's greatest fear, is that they aren't better than what is around us, so we use our strength to find a way to overpower what is around us. We create antibiotics to kill bacteria. We create weapons to destroy those we fear our more powerful than ourselves. But within all this strength, there is one thing we fear that we haven't conquered yet. Death. We cannot stop the inevitability of death. We have tried to beat it, but have yet to succeed.

Our strength isn't what we fear, seeing as how so much is stronger than us, since our strengths aren't 100% perfect, but rather that we aren't powerful, that we are essentially weak creatures that have learned to shape things, to bend things to our will. Our fear is that we aren't really all that we are cracked up to be.

Or do we fear that we are all that we are cracked up to be?
Do we fear ourselves, that we're too strong?

Some people do. I know this for a fact.

I disagree.
You do that
Was that remark intended to be antagonistic? I was simply stating my opinion that I disagree with the poem. I apologize if you take offense to that.
C'mon elephant, you've been here long enough to know that if you're gonna say something, you need to elaborate on it. Two word posts will not do.
I need explain myself to no man.

Well, I'm pretty sure they coulda handed it over to the police if i did that... in fact, Principal blatantly told me he could've, the only reason they didn't with the punch was because i'd had a clean record...
