Intimidation comes from how confident you are. Maybe the people who see you as intimidating do so because they, themselves lack the confidence? I mean I guess it would make sense. Honestly though, I enjoy the company of others. I'm not very social around people I don't know, I sort of lack confidence myself, but when I DO get to know people, I'm wuite confident. Also, I dont think anyone's intimidating at ALL, unless they seem like they are TRYING to be. I can sort of read into people's words and actions...
Yeah, I figured people were just naturally afraid of confidence, to some degree. And even if someone tries to be intimidating, like throwing their weight around and stuff, I just laugh on the inside.
Right, people just tend to feel like they aren't very worth much. But it's the over confident ones that get me. I mean, how can someone feel so good about themselves that they have to actually force it on to other people. Pride is not a problem, but it can turn into one...

I don't think that's in human nature.

If you got it, flaunt it. If you don't got it? Your worthless. Now THAT'S human nature.
That's pretty much what it's saying. Except it says that everyone's got it, they just pretend they don't
No. Very few have it.

No one who really has it hides it, that goes against the entire principle of 'having it.'

Except for people who fear jelousy and spite. I know it sounds egotistical but I dumb myself down so much in my history class because people get mad at me when I don't.

It is because of regret, some of us better ourselves. We can learn from our regrets, and move forward from them, so we do not have to experience them again and take pride and joy in the knowledge that most regrets are fixable in some way, shape, or form.

While the sentiment of not doing enough and the regret associated with said sentiment are ever-present, one also has to entertain the potential downfalls of doing too much.

Life is not without consequence, and the only deciding factor between it and success is simply a universal game of Russian roulette. Always trying to do something will yield many a success, but at the same time, will also create consequence; and depending on the scope of the aforementioned consequence, one may end up hurting those we try to help, if not ourselves.

So despite my many regrets, they are always offset by the countless times that things could have gone horribly wrong.

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

~ William Butler Yeats
I'm so going to misinterpret that as justification for laziness.

We certainly fear our light, but I think we fear our darkness more.
Also I don't think we neccessarily fear it, we just simply don't realise what we can achieve.

I've always stood up for what I believe in, even here on the escapist. Doing the right thing can be hard because most people will either have no spine to support you or will just laugh and ridicule you for wanting to do good. I've seen the world literally turn to shit in my lifetime and I'm only 15.

To stay in the light of great poetry (hur hur, sarcasm incoming),

"It's not that we don't care
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting for the world to change
"

I disagree. It's usually that, unless there's injustice thrown in my face, then I will do everything within and outside of my power to bring equality back.

I can't stop doing that, and it gets me in trouble so friggan' much.

Also, while reading the poem I kept having the Green Lantern Oath pop in my head.

This, my friend, is why I'm a man of few words. I keep to myself, but when someone challenges my pride or confidence in myself, I merely smirk. It throws them off, and shows them they're wrong.

While it does serve grandly for that purpose ;), it's also a plea to consider the potential consequences of always speaking when one has the option be silent.

Right, for me, I just never really find myself in such a situation. It's not because I'm anti-social, but rather because I don't go out much. Although THAT is more because I don't really have friends. I've just never had the chance to make any real friends. Being home schooled all my life has kept me away from being social at all. Although, I'm sure I could make friends easily enough, if I could. It's just a matter of finding a place where I can meet people, in my area, where I can talk to people who share similar, if not some interests.

Man, I met most of my good friends from school, so I can't imagine how I'd meet people without them. Good luck with that, and I do mean it.
