It seems Billie Joe Armstrong doesn't like only having "one fucking minute"

First of all, watch this.

Watched it? Good. You may have noticed that Bille Joe Armstrong did not particularly agree with only having one minute of his set, apparently because Green Day's set was cut by 20 minutes so that Usher and Rihanna could have more time on stage.

But apparently that's not the case and now he's checked himself into rehab [http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2012/09/23/green-days-billie-joe-armstrong-heads-to-rehab/70000969/1#.UF-fM41lSew] seeking treatment for substance abuse.

So, ladies and gentlemen, any particular thoughts on this apparent breakdown from Bille Joe Armstrong? Funny? Sad?

At the least all that use of the word fuck did remind me of this video.

Did you hear that? That was the sound of can of epicness being opened. I don't hate Usher or Rihanna, but I'd be pissed too.

Captcha* Very nice

Damn right.

I've never really liked Green Day, ok I've always hated them, but that was pretty hilarious

I'm nowhere near as big a Green Day fan as I once was, but yeah. I'd listen to them all day before I listened to even one song by Rihanna or Usher.

That was some glorious unbridled rage there.

On the plus side he can go home while the audience has to stay for more Rihanna and Usher :p

I agree with this. I can't imagine having a status set up like Green Day has worked for, then to have it degraded by saying, "Hey, you need to move on. We have this other guy to show you up."

It doesn't even have to be Usher they were ushering in after, it could have been anyone. Even if I don't particularly enjoy Green Day's music, they do have a place as a respected band in the world and deserve respect.

Well played. I feel bad for the guy, being pushed aside for Usher and Rihanna. I don't listen to any of their music but I've got a lot more time for Green Day than those other two.

That was fucking amazing. I love this guy. No seriously. That was epic.
Indeed it was. It was both funny and epic at the same time, especially the endings. xD

But still, I would be pissed too if Usher and Rihanna pushed my time aside so they could have "more" time which they shouldn't have.

Also I would have Green Day any day then those two. (That is my opinion in music at least.)

That was a good thing. I don't really like Green Day, but I would be pretty pissed if I was in his shoes. That was pretty awesome.

*sigh* Anyone else feel this was mostly staged? Guess I am just a cynic. At 30 years old, should I be hardly surprised? I have not listened to Green Day on a regular basis since the 90s, also, even though I enjoyed their music, I always remembered this guy as being a total jerk to his fans.

Really? I mean, I haven't followed them closely or anything, but every time I catch glimpses of them, they are awesome to their fans. There was a story I heard a few years back where they took a fan on stage and let him play the guitar for one of their hits.

On the American Idiot tour they got 3 members of the crowd on stage to take over playing Minority nearly every gig.

I can understand why he'd be pissed.

I liked how Dirnt, the bass player, joined in with the smashing. Did he want to help Billie Joe look less crazy? Or was he just having a good time?

I like the bass player's reaction when he started smashing his guitar. He kind of hesitated and looked like he was thinking, "Uh, I guess I had better join in."
