Yeah. The last good shows they had where Samurai Jack and Megas XLR. Sure, they tried to bring back Ed, Edd, and Eddy, but it didn't work, and it never will again. I hear that the creator of Dexter, the Power Puff Girls, and all of the only good stuff to ever come out of Cartoon Network is making a new show, completely hand animated and based off of Mecha anime. On a side note, Toonami is still around in Europe.

I've been watching looney toons lately and I can honestly say those cartoons were works of arts. What modern cartoon on Cartoon network and Nick has received an Academy award?
The 30s and 40s where the pinnacle of cartoons imo

Every morning in the 90s i would watch Looney Toons so I kinda grew up on the stuff, along with other older cartoons and comedy films my dad watched.

Chuck Jones and Tex Avery = best cartoonist

Just the first 10 seconds of that video promo with Andrew W.K. makes me glad I lost my cable back home a long time ago. I didn't have to bear witness to such travesties.

Do they still have Foster's home for imaginary friends?

If so then for that one reason they cannot be called a shitty network, but if they've taken it off air...
It got cancelled a while ago. I'm sorry to tell you. Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends... Is dead.

This is always how it is. We grow up and miss the shows we used to watch. 90s Nickelodeon anyone? When the kids who watch cartoon network now grow up they'll be reminiscing about how awesome and culturally relevant total drama island was.

That being said, I miss the old Cartoon Network so much. Way too many shows to even begin listing here.

Well, to be fair. They did do this...
This video is but a gem in a mountain of shit.

This is where I learned about this.
Haha I managed to catch that episode. I personally like Chowder. It's quirky and has some really fucked up humor that goes right over kids' heads. Flapjack is the same way.

The only decent show I can still watch is Chowder. The rest are just....and how can Cartoon Network have a Cartoon Network Real?>_>
I miss all of the old shows. G-Gundam, Wing, Outlaw Star, Megas XLR, Rurouni Kenshin, First few DBZ, Dragonball, Courage, Zoids, Samerai Jack, Yu Yu Hackishu heck even the powerpuff girls, Dexter, and probably a few others I'm missing. Something trippy I found a few weeks ago that some people might like:

You're preaching to the choir, man. I did a thread like this some months ago. Cartoons just aren't very good anymore, beside from a few gems and meh's. The 90's golden age of cartoons died when Steven Spielberg got out of the game, it's remarkably disappointing. Almost makes me want to start making cartoons, just to have a reason to wake up on Saturday mornings.

I miss those shows as well as Invader zim, which has been cut off forever by Nick, but I guess it's just evolution or something. They start thinking differently to try to stay fresh.
I guess I could just say "You have to move on" or something.

Cartoon Network is going down the same dark road as MTV, they've started sacking off quality shows for cheaply made pop culture rip offs and there slowly starting to sneak in live action shows that are little better than web shows. they even made there own version of MTV 2, Does Boomerang ring a bell?
your dead wrong brother, you must not remember well cause I recall Boomarang being around long before Toonami died and CN turned into a cesspool for shitty animation and crap ratings grabbers. Back then(and still now) Boomarang introduced me to the kinda of shows that my parents grew up watching. Point of my rant being they didn't create Boomarang solely to be thier version of MTV2, even though thats what its become now
I remeber quite well sir, MIV 2 was originally created show the older top favs or to showcase the video's of lesser known bands so while i'll admit there are differences i belive my metaphore holds up.

cartoons in general just suck these days, i stopped watching them years ago when stuff like Freakazoid, animaniacs, pinky and the brain, SATam sonic, The mask, x-men and spider-man was on and ongoing. my honest opinion is that western cartoons really do suck these days whilest anime in japan has seemed to have not changed in the last 10-15 years.

In all fairness:

-Andrew W.K. is a fucking wizard and you will give him your respect.
-All cartoons they have been getting in are mostly from Canada. Canada. Need I say more? :p

But yes, most networks seemed to have declined over the years. CN has Adventure Time, Flapjack, Chowder, and most of Adult Swim still going for it, but more and more of it is being eaten up by reality TV, which I find rots the soul and mind. Yet again, my profession focuses on cartoons/drawing/animation/humorous writing, so I might be a bit biased.

P.S: Before I here any BAAAAAAAW'ing, I do not dislike the people of Canada. Just your sense of humor. :p
