Cartoon Network is going down the same dark road as MTV, they've started sacking off quality shows for cheaply made pop culture rip offs and there slowly starting to sneak in live action shows that are little better than web shows. they even made there own version of MTV 2, Does Boomerang ring a bell?
Except unlike MTV2, Boomerang actually has some pretty good shows.

There is but one show remaining that is remotely good.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

And Boba Fett's set to fuck that one up right pretty if the season 2 finale is any indication. Damn kid's whinier than Anakin ever was.
That show is dead to me ever since I counted 103 separate canon errors in their Mandalore episodes. I count novels as part of canon (Republic/Imperial Commando ARE AWESOME).
I like the clone episodes the best from Season 1. I have the DVD set and just rewatch those and the one with Bane. Makes the series a little less painful when Anakin is gone.
OT: I LIKE chowder. They're reality shows are crap, but Chowder is actually funny. Oh, and they're adding another live action show on CARTOON network. Some Indiana Jones knockoff about teenagers. Yay! /sarcasm, please don't kill me through the internet.

your dead wrong brother, you must not remember well cause I recall Boomarang being around long before Toonami died and CN turned into a cesspool for shitty animation and crap ratings grabbers. Back then(and still now) Boomarang introduced me to the kinda of shows that my parents grew up watching. Point of my rant being they didn't create Boomarang solely to be thier version of MTV2, even though thats what its become now
I remeber quite well sir, MIV 2 was originally created show the older top favs or to showcase the video's of lesser known bands so while i'll admit there are differences i belive my metaphore holds up.
I never said that metaphorically what you said doesn't hold up, cause it does metaphorically. But in the context of reality its wrong like I said since Boomarang was around(and not showcasing what to us are CN classics) before MTV2 was existed to showcase old MTV hits

CN is all that plays in my house because of my fucking little brother. It's really depressing...I think that once they started adding live action shit to the CARTOON NETWORK, that's when they reached the bottom of the bottom.
I miss the good ol' days of Courage, Samurai Jack, Invader Zim[Nickelodeon, but still.], Foster's Home, Ren and Stimpy...all that genuine stuff.
I'll admit I kind of love Flapjack, though. If that show gets cancelled, I will stab something.

DELTORA QUEST HAS A SHOW???

Holy crap... I had no idea...

My kid watches cartoon network alot, I make him turn to CNN or something when those stupid "real" shows come on, like destroy build destroy =P

Out of everything, I do enjoy Flapjack, and I get the occasional chuckle out of Chowder, the rest is crap ><

I will admit I like Adventure Time With Finn and Jake. I just love the way they interact with each other and the dark turns the show likes to take. I admit when I saw the promo I thought it was going to be another Adventures with Flapjack (shudders), but I was pleasantly surprised and it is the only show I watch that isn't on Adult Swim.

Venture Brothers.

Adult swim is about all that is left on that network, I miss days when they had massive annual contest an voted on which cartoons were picked up, how "Courage" started.

Wow man, that Bobb'e show is atrocious. He's acting like a young Chris Tucker. Way to perpetuate a ridiculous stereotype.
I don't have the cartoon network, instead in Canada we have Teletoon, and I can pretty safely say that it doesn't have any of those cheese-ball live action shows.
...
I don't watch it too much, so out of curiosity I checked the channel lineup, and tomorrow they're playing The Crow (Brandon Lee, live action..) what the hell is that doing on a cartoon channel? Thats about as weird as it gets though, the rest are animated shows.
That's Teletoon's at night stuff, they show more adult oriented movies and TV shows. Futurama, American Dad, King of the Hill and Robot Chicken to name a few shows. I rememeber once they showed Heavy Metal (The movie with the cartoon tits). That was... Interesting.

OT: Cartoon Network's last good original show that isn't on Adult Swim was Megas XLR. That show was awesome...

Haha yeah, apparently it's been going on since 2006 or something. It's anime so maybe it took time to translate it into english and make sure it's appropiate and all that. To be honest I didn't even know about it until a few weeks ago.

Yeah cartoonnetwork is not what it used to be. Now all we can watch is adventure time, ben ten, generator rex, clone wars, And maybe flapjack some people kinda like it for it's madness. But alot of the shows are really bad. Total drama series is in it's third season and intend to sing every episode. Oh my. That's bad. Still though because me and my friend are writers we would like to think that once we got off the ground with our stories we would sell them to cartoon network in an attempt to revive it to it's heyday.

Sure you could comment on how that might not happen but it's better than being bitter.

The channel died after Ed, Edd n' Eddy ended. Ed, Edd n' Eddy was the last Cartoon Network original cartoon from the 90's, one of the Cartoon Cartoon's that included shows like Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff Girls and Johnny Bravo. After it ended a year ago, so did classic Cartoon Network.

I think we can all agree that the great days of cartoons are over.
Samurai Jack was my favorite show of all time...did he ever get back to his own time or did it just get cancelled?

As stated way way WAY before, the people in charge of Cartoon Network want shows that will reel in impressionable children. Unfortunately, all this does is teaches them that the established order is good, that a lack of different, unique shows is a good thing since it's a safe bet. Children should not be taught that, since it CAN carry over to real life. I mean I don't know about anyone here, but the old shows like Johnny Bravo and Courage taught me to express my creativity, to think outside the box to achieve success.
And all these watered down clones just completely screw that lesson up.

This is probably a really bad time to post this considering you're all crying and pinning your hopes on Chowder, but I didn't want to see you get lead on.

The bastards removed Adult Swim from Australian Cartoon Network

There are a few good show still on CN but that is only about 4 shows out of 20. Not to mention they only play the good shows once a day and everything else gets 5 shots.

Nick only has probably 3 cartoons left, the rest are all crap live action hug the kittens stuff.

Took ya long enough... Cartoon Network died after Toonami died.
Ditto, and it isn't Nostalgia either, Toonami came around when I was 19 already so childhood memories had nothing to do with it and I thought it was one of the most awesome line up since the legendary lineup of Saturday Morning Cartoons of the 80s.

Cartoon Network use to be awesome, it sucks balls now.
