She went back to her boyfriend because after cheating on her 3 times, he knew how to treat her right and I didn't.

''I don't deserve someone like you.''

I don't really dislike people with low self confidence, but if I like you and I want to be with you, it should be enough for you to stay with me rather then chicken out because you don't feel like you're good enough...
Oh man...I...Well...

Ok, I used that one, But only because i was being spineless, and it didnt work.

I am not allowed to date but my poor friend got dumped bad by a girl who tried hooking up with none other than me! It was so weird, they talked like all the time, seemed really close, went on some good dates, made out (borderline foreplay), said "I love you" like all the time but than all of a sudden she texted me saying that she didn't like my friend Eric "that way" and said that she loved me and was attracted to me. That girl was fucked up, she has had like a billion boyfriends and goes through one, gets bored, discards him, goes through another. Plays guys like a guitar and cuts their strings (poor Eric, almost got me to)...anyone else know a girl like that?

If shes needy and won't get off your jock, you need to stick it to her straight. Beating around the bush will confuse her. Just tell her to give you some alone time and go out with her friends or focus on something else. Otherwise it will strain both people. In terms of breaking up with said person, if she's too attached to respect and adhere to your personal time/bubble, then you have a justified reason for breaking up with her: because it just won't work out.
I know that now...In fact i knew that at the time, I just couldnt cope with the crying.

See when i look back, Im glad im single - Im an arsehole in relationships!

Mr Guru here cant seem to practice what he preaches!

The one boyfriend I have had broke up with me because he'd met a girl online over World of Warcraft that he insisted he had fallen in love with.
They had talked and played together for a week and a half. She lived in Pennsylvania, we're in Colorado.

World of Warcraft. For a week and a half. Living on opposite sides of the US.

Uh...yeah...
Wow...just...what? Should've been like "Yeah? Well I met someone on FF11, and they got more characters than your new Night Elf slut."

Never been in a relationship that had enough meaning for us to actually "break up." However I have had to tell some people who used to be my friends to fuck off. That's never fun.

Most of my breakups have been fairly mutual.
Me: Is this working?
Her: Not really/It's just a sex thing/No.
Me: You want to break it off?
Her: I guess so.
Me: All righty then! *Starts looking at other women's chests without feeling guilty*

I've never had a girlfriend, per se, so I can't exactly give an appropriate answer in this thread. However...

Reminds me of a friend of mine. I kept telling her she was being stupid but she continued trying to break up with her absolutely loyal boyfriend because (and this is just completely mind-boggling) ...

"He deserves better than me."

...

For fuck's sake.

They are now broken up. Sometimes you just can't reason with people.

A really stupid one is:

When they see that their sister was sleeping with you and they call you a cheating bastard despite the fact that you asked her to do a three-way last night and she doesn't remember because she's loaded half the time and she ends up killing her sister in revenge and says that you're next and it ends up being like an indie-psycho-slasher movie with bad acting and full-frontal nudity.

These. Things. Happen.

Actually mine have all been fairly mutual... except one just vanished out of the blue. I found out later via myspace that she just up and moved to California... because she was engaged the entire time we were seeing each other. Heh... oh well, I had a good time with it.

Yeah that one always pisses me off I have had it a few times, worse still is watching them spiral lower and lower afterward I learned to get hard and stop caring once it ended ... can't say Its worked out any better though now I'm just a prick prick that says "f#ck you its my house my bed you go sleep on the damn couch" and wonders why my relationships don't last ... still I see the funny side of it and it beats watching people tear themselves down or having them presume to know whats "best" for you

"I just want to be friends."

Three weeks later she was hostile and acting like nothing between us ever mattered. That b**ch.

Edit: It wasn't even face to face, it was via Facebook chat.

I've only had one break up and it was,
"I need you to stop calling me, I'm dating someone else."
Not to stupid except she broke with him 2 weeks later.

"I just want to be friends" and variants thereof. Granted, I have remained friends with them and at one time considered one to be one of my closest friends.

Well, the girl I love lives in Seattle and I met her through WoW.

I understand your perspective on the whole thing, but it sometimes does happen. I hardly play anymore and we still talk on a daily basis and everything.

But a week and a half? Yeah. You deserve much better.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm sure it happens quite a bit, but it was the fact that he'd only "known" her a week and a half and claimed that he had fallen in love with her. That was just...I don't really need to explain that, I don't think. xD
