The one boyfriend I have had broke up with me because he'd met a girl online over World of Warcraft that he insisted he had fallen in love with.
They had talked and played together for a week and a half. She lived in Pennsylvania, we're in Colorado.

World of Warcraft. For a week and a half. Living on opposite sides of the US.

Uh...yeah...
Well, the girl I love lives in Seattle and I met her through WoW.

I understand your perspective on the whole thing, but it sometimes does happen. I hardly play anymore and we still talk on a daily basis and everything.

But a week and a half? Yeah. You deserve much better.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm sure it happens quite a bit, but it was the fact that he'd only "known" her a week and a half and claimed that he had fallen in love with her. That was just...I don't really need to explain that, I don't think. xD
Oh no no, of course not. That is just stupid. I'm sure they're still together right? :p

Not really on topic, but whenever I see anything about "breakups", I can't help of being reminded of how the School Day's anime ended. *Cringe*

I don't really do the dating thing honestly. Only casual sex Nothing at all.

She cheated on me and told me it was my fault for not being there, we had been together a year, moved in for a month and she was never home and always with her mates that she didn't want me to meet from her new workplace.

I don't think I've ever been broken up with. No doubt it's not much fun on the receiving end.

"I have too much coursework for a relationship" (It was may, school was over in less than a month)

"You remind me of my ex"

I can't choose between which one is worse, but they are without a doubt the top two.

Hmm, the stupidest one that has personally happened to me was

''I don't deserve someone like you.''

I don't really dislike people with low self confidence, but if I like you and I want to be with you, it should be enough for you to stay with me rather then chicken out because you don't feel like you're good enough...
My response to that would be "I'll be the judge of that, thank you."

OT: "I just want to be friends."
Worst fucking sentence in the English language.

Never had a Girlfriend so I haven't broken up. However your stories made me fall off my chair with laughter :D

*ahem* not that I enjoy laughing at other peoples pain or anything...
Also, 2 things (In the same quote! Efficiency :D)

About the first one. If I had had a girlfriend earlier in my life, that's probably how I would break up... Only my self-esteem wasn't even high enough to ask a girl out. Makes you wonder though, if she's (you're) so great and you don't deserve her, Why'd you ask her out? I'd think you'd notice before you asked her out. Although that was a pretty good answr you had there : ) why not let the other person decide if you deserve her/him?
And about the second one. Like i said never had a girlfriend, but I have like 8 "friends who are girls"... and I'd really like to be with some of them... Stupid Friend Zone! : (

The pants are strong on this one.

OT: "Oh I am getting a C in science, so my parents are making me break up with you."

This was my feeling exactly.

We weren't in a relationship, but a guy did stand me up for a date. There was this guy who had been really flirting with me for a couple of weeks. He asked me out and said he would come pick me up. About 30 minutes AFTER he was supposed to pick me up, I called him. He said "I got sick and forgot to call you".... Um, ok.

I saw him the next day. He seemed fine. About a week later he was dating another girl I knew.

That sucks. I really hate people who do that. I mean, if you have an issue in a relationship, how about actually saying what your problem is and working it out instead of cheating behind someone's back? I just don't understand it. Also, when someone wants to break up, they need to man-up and be respectful about it. Don't blame it all on the other person.

Sounds like you're a lot better off without her.

I've never really had a breakup moment, I tend to attract girls with boyfriends already who never tell me this till they start feeling all guilty and shit. >_> They were all friends tho so we just mutually broke it off and never let things get weird.

I did have a friend whose ***** of a gf dumped him cuz I called her on her bullshit, she gave some lame ass reason which sparked a rather amusing MySpace war. XD

Wow...just...what? Should've been like "Yeah? Well I met someone on FF11, and they got more characters than your new Night Elf slut."
That made me lol.

Gawd I <3 Nerd love. And Nerd breakups are the best too.

Not that I know anything about it having never been in a relationship, but I have received just about every rejection in the book!

My half black girlfriend broke up with me because i "was not sensitive to her racial struggle"

First, she was from suburbia, and never had to struggle except to get in and out of her escalade.
Second, she looked white and noone ever knew she was part black except me and her close friends...
Third, the reason she thought i wasnt sensitive was because of a joke that went a little something like this...
"Hey [HALF BLACK DOUCHE EX OF MINE] Do you know what time Chinese people go to the dentist???..?.....?...Tooth Hurty. Get it? Tooth Hurty. HA!"

So then she dwelled on it for a week, invited me to her family reunion so i could meet everyone, and she could break up with me in front of them, and then drive me home crying. (she was, not me)

Then i saw her two years later, with 2 kids and a babys daddy who was too busy getting high to feed his kids. I WIN!!!!

I have never been dumped because I have never had a girl. But I have heard, "It's not you, It's me." and, "I'm moving." and, "I have to visit my father on weekends, so it is too much drama." and, "I'm not interested in men." and, "I already have someone." and, "HA! YOU SERIOUS?" and, "No, just no. Don't talk to me." and, "It just wouldn't work out." and, "You're cute and all, but not my kind of cute." and, "You aren't on my level." and, "I'm Pregant, so it isn't like I don't like you, but..." and, "Oh, it's you."

SO DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT BEING DUMPED. I AM KING IN THAT RESPECT.
that doesnt sound like being dumped, more like being rejected. theres a big difference.

oh and OT, im trying to talk to a girl that I drunkenly hooked up with (and then some) at a party and let her down soft, and there isnt one thing i thought of saying that hasn't been addressed here. how does "sorry, but none of it meant anything, I was extremely drunk and couldnt even remember your name the next morning" sound???

I break up with them.
That came across as really really douche-y.
Maybe because I pictured it something like this.
(Looking down at enemy) People don't break up with me.
(Puts on raybans, pops collar) I, break up with them.
(Cue explosion and casual walk off)

but, thats beside the point

OT: My ex who I'm back with now put us on a break because she thought I wasn't happy in my life, and so gave me time to fix that. She removed herself, the thing that made mehappiest the most in my life, from my life to make me more happy.

The logic is flawed.
