Super Smash Brothers, I think. I could only afford 2 games a year on 5$ allowance a week (minus some money for bribing people to do stupid things.) I had only recently discovered the joy of video games and I didn't have a system of my own at the time. I was 10 at the time.

OMG that game is the SHIT. I remember daisy-chaining two controllers with my friend and going co-op. Plus it had a really cool multiplayer. And...RIOT MODE.

Would be Starcraft, Counter-Strike, Tribes.

Funny how all things I thought I was playing, Age of Mythology, Savage, turn out to be unreleased at the time. I didn't really go into the GAMERS world after Mount*Blade (Which was slightly after Savage)

Before that I only played Age of Empires. So I guessed, Age of Empires it was. After checking, most definitely Age of Empires II Since it just came out a 4 months before 2000. Probably some other games too... Cossacks! Yea that great game.

The only one I can remember is Future Cop: LAPD. I'm tempted to buy it off the PSN again if I can't find my old copy.

EDIT: Woah. Lots of people gave that answer for a relatively obscure game (it wasn't a massive hit or anything). It was fun though.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon... Age of Empires... And Driver 2! I used to love that game. It was bloody amazing.

At least I think it came out before 2000...

And probably Tony Hawks' Pro Skater 3.
