From what I gathered, autistic guy know's how to code and was chased away because how dare he know how to code. Or something like that.
...That's a rather interesting take on a situation where a guy was literally trying to break the site and render people's web browsers inoperable.
Either I missed some huge fun that went down or that's a bit of an exaggeration, at most I saw him post malformed HTML which led to wonky looking thread pages, I missed the breaking of the site and rendering people's browsers inoperable parts I'm afraid.
I wasn't here for that. Didn't know he did that shit. My bad.
Likewise, the only times i've really dealt with epic wynn was stumbling across some of his threads in the ww, ignoring them and moving on, otherwise i'd see him sometimes popping up in a thread, say something sometimes self aggrandizing then leave.
The worst i thought of him was that he seemed egotistical but that's not something i'll hate someone over.
Seems i might have gotten lucky in avoiding his worst antics.

Maybe its just time for forums to die all together? Seems like no one is ever happy, everyone else is always the problem
I love the new forum I hang out with so forums ain't the problem at all, but the limited amount of people we have left on this site? Well speaking strictly for myself, a good portion i won't miss and likewise i won't be missed by them.
On that note..Fine i'mma stop being a tease.. Not least cos i think you (silentpony) might actually be someone who could be interested by this site (being a 40k fan pretty much auto qualifies you). It's possible others might be interested too. Honestly based on my gut feeling, I think this place is like for 15-20% of the remaining escapist pop at best.

Disclaimer for the codex':
-Say dumb shit, people will call you dumb. Mods jobs are mainly administrative, they don't care about tone policing, this can also lead to a lot of bluntness.
-Site has an overall right wing bias, the rpgcodex welcomes discussion but the usual sort of snarkiness and rhetoric that "won" you arguments on this site won't work on rpgcodex and people will quickly call you out on your attempts to appear smarter then you are.
You'll find left wingers and liberals on the site, but due to the site's reputation for hostility and edginess, it tends to chase them away (a reputation the forumites encourage precisely because of that reason even though imo they are a nicer bunch then on this site overall once you get past the blunt exterior). When it comes to political threads in particular i've felt more comfortable sharing my views on that site even when they went against the grain of the thread i was posting in then i have ever done on this site and likewise tend to feel more listened to even when the person doesn't agree with me.
-Somewhat related to the above, the user base of the dex tends to be older and more seasoned then those on this site, and there is also far more users from outside usa and uk.
-Even though the primary drive of the codex is on rpgs (it's in the name after all!) they cover all genres.
-If you're the kinda person who genuinely likes neogafs moderation and how they ban people for having the wrong views, or in general value strict moderation, stay the fuck away please xD You'll hate it there.
-The codex is highly critical when it comes to games and any praise and acclaim there for a game is hard earned.
-Lots of NSFW content, heck there's even porn threads floating around if that's your thing.
I recommend to start with the let's plays(codex playground)and game discussions to get a taste for the site and what makes it kewl.
Site ain't for everybody, you've been warned.
